The two parter had a rocky start but this episode was pretty good. Definitely felt like filler though, despite introducing a new villain.
I love that Melt and Banba were on the same wavelength and realized something was amiss. This, along with Asuna's horrible singing and Towa saving the Victim of the Week, felt like they utilized the cast really well. Ui played a small but significant role as well. I wouldn't say that the twist, that Wizeru was posing as the sister the whole time, was wholly unexpected, but it did make him feel more imposing and threatening than in the last episode. Creating a copy of the Kishiryu so they could eat the "bomb" is kind of dumb but works with the format of the episode. Likewise, the whole "allergic to bad singing" thing was dumb but also a callback to earlier in the episode so I can't really say the show introduced stuff randomly (though it does always seem they have a RyuSoul for every little thing). Loved seeing more of Banba and Kou's rivalry, but the reluctant fist-bump during the team roll-call was cute. Action was amazing, as expected. Next week seems to be more what I expected from a Sentai Series's early episodes. This will be blue's first focus episode and we'll be seeing Master Blue again and the debut of KishiryuOh Triken. Seems like the format got completely shuffled around, but better late than never. |

I liked this episode better than the last one. Just the little things made it better I think.
I liked that Wizeru is a bit of a show off. I feel like he has more personality than Tankjo. I did miss Kureon though. During the fight I liked the swordplay of reds suit actor and the footwork of greens suit actor. Just made the fight more dynamic in a way. And most of all I liked that they didn't force Koh to be the one to save Fita. It made sense since Towa is supposed to be the fastest of all of them that he be the one to do it. If it had been Kyoryuger or Kyuranger you know that red will be the one to save her.

This was a really solid conclusion. There were lots of things here I thought were genuinely pretty clever. I like in particular how the big twist was slightly more complicated than it appears at first, when a show like Super Sentai can get away without going the extra mile there. The fact that the title is essentially a setup for a subversive punchline that's also the climax of the episode is rather amusing, too.
We're also finally getting an honest to goodness spotlight episode next week, and frankly I would be more than okay with Ryusoulger just doing 5 of those in a row, because the characters are still the one thing that isn't clicking with me. Although credit where credit is due for bringing up Bamba's willingness to kill a Minusaur host again. I was so sure they'd brush that plot point under the rug completely so I really owe the show an apology considering it still comes up when appropriate.

I think in a sense, the characters are just too stock. it's the typical "We can do anything if we believe in ourselves" characters. Not saying it happens all the time, but it's mostly why I veer towards Kamen Rider, because at least the heroes aren't as one dimensional.
At least I find Wizru entertaining, more than TankJoh. |

Face paced, but boring. It's too cliche preaching good moral values. Everything is too easily handed to them. They need to make this show different beside action in scripts wise or else it'll be another kyoryu. I find kyoryu more entertaining and I don't even like it that much. I find lupin, gobuster, and toq to be better. I wish black and green are assholes like 00s "Extra " heroes in riders and sentai. The villains aren't interesting beside cliche rider rope in using guest of the week dealing with emotion. I forgot did kyoryu gold stay as a fake asshole longer or not? The cast is so one note. Black and green show some potential , but they're part of the happy gang. Red is like the one that's like an airhead, but manage to suprise and gather allies to like him. In reality, there's no depth to its character and made it boring to watch. Lupin is full of fillers, but they made most of the main cast goals clear as well as have amazing character piece. Kishi ryu is doing what saban is doing to ranger personalities.

Reiwa era, I would be shock and surprised with amazement if green died a few episodes ago to strengthen black or at least get replaced for a while. Every episodes is "different" , but even as a toku fan i wish there was more drama and emotion than silly souls of the week gags.

I liked this a fair bit and I love how it paid off and what was initially a disappointing first part, though I'm getting a similar feeling that I do to modern Kamen Rider -- much as I'm enjoying it, there's just too many toys being advertised and this is unfortunately done in a way that makes the Ryusoulgers feel way too powerful for the dynamic the show is trying to do. They're not supposed to be a group that is able to overcome most things thrown their way or is super experienced or whatever, and yet; for pretty much any situation they've got a Toy In Stores Now For Only 6.99 that will instantly easily do the job.
It would probably work better if they were getting a new Toy In Stores Now as they went along with only a few base ones to start with. Having a huge arsenal to work with has worked for certain series like Gokaiger, but there they were a bunch of experienced pirates who were used to blasting past everything in their path; and the conflict mainly came from them mostly being morally dubious people at best. Not saying that needs to be the solution to this situation every time, but clearly there needs to be something Last edited by Kurona; 05-08-2019 at 01:55 PM.. |

My only question out of watching this is who is the stronger T-Rex, Tyramigo or Gabutyra?
My money is still on Gabutyra. Also, the whole "we can do this because we believe in ourselves" isn't a new trope in any Sentai series. Maybe it'll change under the Reiwa era, but I doubt it. I've become used to it. And the fact that they're not screaming Yossha Lucky every five seconds helps a lot. Honestly? I expected more singing.
