Now, I know that Kamen Rider Drive is a bit of an old series, at this point. But, I have been wondering, "If Kamen Rider Drive were to come back, what could additional forms be?"
First of all, let's think about what the new forms could be based upon. To think about that, we need to go back and think "What have Shift Cars, Signal Bikes, and/or Viral Cores have been based upon in the past?" So, first Shift Cars. This won't include Shift Tridoron, Shift Ride Crosser, Shift Heartron, or the Legend Rider Shift Cars. Shift Speed: Based upon a Sports Car Shift Wild: Based upon a Dune Buggy Shift Technic: Based upon a Garbage Truck Shift Deadheat: Based upon a Motorcycle and Sidecar Shift Formula: Based upon a Formula 1 Car Shift High Speed: Based upon a Luxurious Sports Car Shift Next Special: Based upon a Futuristic Car Shift Max Flare: Based upon a Flaming Hotrod Shift Funky Spike: Based upon a Spiky Hotrod Shift Midnight Shadow: Based upon a Ninja Hotrod Shift Justice Hunter: Based upon a Police Car Shift Dream Vegas: Based upon a Limousine Shift Dimensional Cab: Based upon a Taxicab Shift Massive Monster: Based upon a Monster Truck Shift Rumble Dump: Based upon a Dump Truck Shift Mad Doctor: Based upon an Ambulance Shift Hooking Wrecker: Based upon a Tow Truck Shift Burning Solar: Based upon a Solar Car Shift Colorful Commercial: Based upon a Mobile Billboard Shift Spin Mixer: Based upon a Concrete Mixer Shift Fire Braver: Based upon a Fire Engine Shift Rolling Gravity: Based upon a Road Roller (Insert obvious JoJo Reference here) Shift Deco Traveller: Based upon a Dekotora Shift Road Winter: Based upon an Ice Resurfacer (Zamboni) Shift Amazing Circus: Based upon a Clown Car Shift Mantern F01: Based upon a Gas Refuelling Tank Shift Jacky F02: Based upon a Floor Jack Shift Sparner F03: Based upon a Combination Wrench Shift Mega Max Flare: Based upon a Flaming Hotrod Shift Next Builder: Based upon a Futuristic Garbage Truck Shift Next Deco Traveller: Based upon a Futuristic Dekotora Shift Next Hunter: Based upon a Futuristic Police Car Next to cover the Signal Bikes. This will not be including Shift Deadheat, Signal Mach, Signal Chaser, or any of the Legend Rider Signal Bikes Signal Magarl (To Turn/Bend): Based upon a Dirt Bike Signal Kikern (Danger): Based upon a Custom Bike Signal Tomarle (To Stop): Based upon a Sports Bike Signal Kaksarn (Scatter/Diffusion): Based upon an American-style Bike Finally, the Viral Cores. To simplify this, each of the different types of normal Viral Cores will be given 1 category. Cobra Viral Core/Chaser Cobra Viral Core/Neo Cobra Viral Core: Based upon a Cobra Bat Viral Core/Chaser Bat Viral Core/Neo Bat Viral Core: Based upon a Bat Spider Viral Core/Chaser Spider Viral Core/Neo Spider Viral Core: Based upon a Spider Lupin Blade Viral Core: Based upon an Older-Style Car with a blade on the back Rhino Super Viral Core: Based upon a Rhino So, I know that Malunis has created Shift Car, Viral Core, or Signal Bike-like things based upon ATVs called Off Roaders, but I think that we should work with the other collectable Henshin Vehicles Maybe a Shift Car based upon a Pick-up Truck could work? A Pickup Truck is designed to carry large amounts of stuff. So, let's make a whole group of Shift Cars designed mainly to be strong enough to tank blows from larger things (like the Giger Mecha from Kamen Rider Zero-One). It could require Drive to put your all into using its abilities to use it. Because of this, this form is particularly taxing for the user's stamina. Overall, this form is less for Weaponry and more for physical kicks and punches. However, there is a Weapon for this form; a hammer. Because the Sword has a Steering Wheel and the Gun has a Door, this particular weapon could have a Stick-Shift, a Gas-Pedal, or an Engine motif. The Pickup Truck-based Shift Car could have some of its own similar Shift Cars which are all about making the use of this a bit easier and less taxing on Drive's Stamina. Here are some possibilities: Shift Relaxing Vacation: Based upon an RV; Makes the use of it a bit less taxing on the user's stamina Shift ? (Not sure about this guys particular name): Based upon a Tanker Truck; Allows for the Kicks and punches to be fired up and takes a little of the strain off of Drive. However, the Tanker can only work for a couple minutes, so he has to transition to another Shift Car to allow for it to recharge Shift ?: Based upon a Horse Transport; Makes his kicking and punching a lot faster (just a bit below Shift Speed) Shift ? Cart: Based upon a Golf Cart (a bit out-of-left field); Allows for you to scan for weak spots so you can aim your attacks for them (Like a golfer) Shift Peaceable Van: Based upon a Van (Like a Volkswagen Bus); Has a strange aura that can make even the most violent individual pretty much a total pacifist (Sort of like the Progrise Hopper Blade) Shift ?: Based upon a Duck Vehicle (Remember the beginning of the final season of Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman?); Gives him the ability to move on water Each of them has a different personality. The Pickup Truck is a strong, but kind-hearted Shift Car. Relaxing Vacation has a personality of a vacationer, totally chill. The Tanker Truck is a bit on the Gruff, No-Nonsense Side. The Horse Transport is basically a Texan. The Golf Cart is very much a guy who would prefer his regular job of fishing golf balls from Water Hazards to battling. But he does admire Shinnosuke. The Golf Cart wants to teach him how to play golf, some day. Peaceable Van is a Hippie. Really chill and everything. He wants people to chill out, man. Use less Fossil Fuels. Pollute less. Take care of the environment. The Duck Vehicle is a pirate. Arr. Avast! He regularly steals from the Roidmudes (and sometimes from his fellow Shift Cars, but that's just in fun pranks). Another group could all work with the Shift Fruits Shift Car. They could all be based upon Lockseeds Gaim has been associated with: The Pine(apple) Lockseed and the Ichigo (Strawberry) Lockseed. This should be easy to make. Meanwhile, next, I'll cover Viral Cores as I don't really have any ideas for Signal Bikes, but I do have ideas for Viral Cores. The first Viral Core idea is based upon a Buzzard/Vulture. The Second is based upon a Scorpion. And the Third is based upon a Jaguar. These are all animals also associated with evil or death. |

There were a lot of forms that were never used. Drive never performed a Tire Koukan with Burning Solar, Colorful Commerical, Deco Traveler or Amazing Circus and out of the 7 Tire Kakimazerls accessible to Type Tridoron, he only used 3 of them.
But you asked for a creative idea and me pointing out missed opportunities is too easy so my suggestion would be Dark Drive Type NEXTridoron, using the same gimmick as Drive's final form with Dark Drive merging with his Mercedes and a Tire Kakimazerl of his 3 Shift Cars. This version would be the real Tomari Eiji.

How about a Drive form based on an older/vintage car?
Drive Type Vintage.

I think I had an idea similar to that. The Shift Cars are made to look like old Caddilacs. Imagine them all having different Retro Themes. Like based upon Drive-In Movie Theaters, Drive-Thrus (Old ones, like Old Sonic Drive-Thrus), Diners, etc. The Drive-Thru based Shift Car could give him Roller Skates. That could be funny to see him slipping and sliding all over the place.

At the end of Drive, IIRC the Tridoron and the rest of Krim Steinbelt's technology was sealed away beneath the Drive Pit, to prevent it being used for evil again, right? (And then of course brought back up in every crossover they want Drive in.) So, imagine a story where someone wanted to turn the Shift Cars into weapons of war.
Shift Soldier, a yellowish-tan Shift Car based on a military car. It was designed to be mass-produced to create an army, and as such has an aggressive personality. The first is given to Shinnosuke, who uses it to become Drive Type Soldier and fight against a new kind of Roidmude. But then, it turns out the new Roidmudes are fakes, created by the same people who created Shift Soldier, with the goal of using Drive to test its capabilities. By the end, the Riders have to fight against a squad of enemy rider troops all using clones of Shift Soldier in some new transformation device to become Mashin Soldiers.

Also, I thought for the Scorpion Viral Core that it could look like a combination of a either a Corvette Indy (concept car that never took off) or a Le Mans Race Car and a Scorpion. Here is both some quick Concept Sketches of my Previously Posted Shift Viral and the Scorpion Viral Core. So, you can see Shift Viral is essentially the size of Shift Tridoron. Possibly it won't have the different lever mode and will just be like the Shift Tridoron (which, remarkably, is about the same size as the readers for the Shift Cars/Viral Cores/Signal Bikes). These are really simple images. It's not much. And the image quality isn't the best because of the fact that it was taken via the front camera of my laptop. Hopefully, you can get what I was getting at. |
