You know what? Depending on how the gattai with Don Onitaijin looks... I think I feel okay skipping this. I'm not super into it on its own.

Is Donrobobolt the first purple colored tiger mecha in Super Sentai history?

The only obvious part I can see are the arms becoming feet attachments but I don’t see any other combiner parts unless maybe you replace blue in the combination.
Looks good but I think the combination reveal will be the final yes or no. |

I wonder what the 4th quarter mecha is going to be.

I'm less interested in these as themselves and more curious about their combination with Don Onitaijin.
I've seen worse-looking feet attachments in Sentai history. Those clearly fit into the pegs on the underside of Don Onitaijin's feet, and they look fairly slim for that. Seems they're borrowing a page from last year's mecha. Onitaijin looks phenomenal on the shelf - which is generally new for Sentai mecha. I'm hoping that this mecha will help complete its look rather than looking (as is usual for Sentai mecha) like someone tried to slap on a bunch of extra parts. Something I didn't notice about the Don Onitaijin design until I got my hands on it are that the seemingly-pointless Kiji shoulder flaps are supposed to resemble armor; I was put in mind of the Kamen Rider Gaim shoulder design. If these two mecha combine to make Onitaijin feel more complete, I'll be well impressed. The arms could use some beefing up/lengthening. I can't tell whether I want to risk preordering this until I need the final combination. It could enhance the existing mecha or could be a trainwreck. I'm hoping for the former, since DT is definitely a Sentai mecha that was designed with an appealing combined mode as its first consideration. |

Based on how the tiger looks without without the dragon armor, I wouldn't be surprised if they at least have a mode where he combines with the other 4 in place of Don Robotaro.

I spent last night going over these images to see how it combines with Don Onitaijin. I'm still lost on a few things, but I've got some general broadstrokes of some things I've figured out.
-Don Onitaijin's swords connect to ToraDora GonJin's arms front connectors. I think we've all figured out those arms become feet- so I'm not surprised that they have a part that goes on the side to help hold them in place. -The blue gorilla's feet connectors seem to connect to a connection point on ToraDora GonJin's lower legs. It's right above the feet. -The purple tiger seems to have connection points on the front of its back legs. These line up with connection sockets on the top wall of the front legs. I suspect it sorta wraps up into some shape the arm mode. -Both components of ToraDora GonJin have arm connections on their back- they're the big red blocks. You can see the teeth even where they detent every 45 degrees. This... has me worried as I'm not sure how an a-symmetrical look go. I've got some other thoughts, such as I think the chest for the combination might be on the dragon's back, but it's a little hard since the dragon seems to break up into so many parts. Anyone else figure something out? |

This seems cool based on small pictures. It's like a big gold Super Zenkaiser.
