Even though practically the entire episode is one big battle, it's still very emotionally intense. The action is also quite good, even by Gozyuger's high standards, varied and full of memorable scenes. But the drama still takes center stage. I like that even the background characters get a chance to shine. Like Sumino saving Rikuo and Shining Knife thanking Kinjiro. We also get an acknowledgement and explanation of Tega Jun's motives. And the whole rescuing of Gude Burne is also quite funny and nicely complements the main story of the episode.
The confrontation between Rikuo and Bouquet is at the forefront. And I understand that many will find this resolution of this situation unconvincing. If you take it literally, as trying to remain a fan of a star even if she killed your sister, it's truly bizarre. But it's important to understand that this story isn't so much about the battle between specific people as it is about the choice between Loving and Destruction. Rikuo convinced Bouquet to accept that there's more to her heart than just hatred, to choose life, and to yearn for happiness again. We'll find out where this leads later. Kuon also pulls off his greatest trick and absorbs Tega Jun. It turns out that the goddess Bridana had a significant flaw: she loved her creations, even those inherently flawed like Ribbon. Therefore, Tega Jun proved incapable of realizing her own dream of a perfect world. In contrast, for Kuon, feelings for someone are a reason to torment them more, making him more suited to the role of the ruthless Demiurge. However, the preview hints that the next episode may be his last. It also teases a meeting with Sentai Angel... I think it's time to take stock of the finale. The Gozyugers have been through a tough time, but despite this, the show continues to delight me as a viewer. Excellent action, drama and comedy, sometimes occurring simultaneously. Likeable and interesting characters, from all sides of the conflict. Unusual world-building, as well as a stunning ability to embed serious philosophical themes in seemingly simple, even absurd situations. Akiko Inoue's first show was definitely a success, and Super Sentai is ending/going on hiatus/changing its name as the first series. Still, I have to admit that Gozyuger is my least favorite Reiwa Sentai. However, this is more of a compliment to his senpais than a criticism. P.S. Fire Candle is amazing as a nanny! |

Kuon's face in Tega June's place has so much meme potential.

By the way, something just occurred to me. Bridan is an anarchist in his worldview. Not the movie-like outcasts with their idea of destruction for the sake of pure chaos, but closer to reality. Anarchism is characterized by the idea of the complete destruction of the old world in order to create an ideal one on its ruins. And that's precisely why anarchists are doomed to always lose, because any construction requires a foundation and an idea, born of that same "rotten and unjust old world." Essentially, Tega Jun recognized this paradox of her ideology and therefore chose to give way to the social Darwinist Kuon, who was confident in his own rightness.
