Top brass member who had the final word for approving Cosmo Gavarion was played by Toshihiko Seki aka the voice of the Gavarion Trigger. For Den-O and Kiva fans, that's Momotaros and Mr. Sanjo from the Kiva summer movie.

This show continues to really wow me with its action sequences, I know we are early on so the budget is higher, but they've just been awesome to watch so far.
We're still in the introductory arc here, so the exposition dumping continues. This time we get to learn more about Setsuna, and his incredibly Metal-Hero-coded sad robot backstory. Again, the pacing was pretty frantic as the story tries to establish all the basic players and aspects of the setting. I'm hoping we get to see more about the individual people they meet and the exolayer Earths once the introductions are out of the way, but it was a nice touch that Reiji followed up with the victim's sister in the hospital even if it was just a small scene. We also establish that the overarching story is to track down the source of the Emorgears that are being distributed across the multiverse, which bears some resemblance to some classic tokusatsu like Kamen Rider W or Dekaranger. I also thought it was cute that the show inherited the Sentai dance credits sequence. Since it used the "opening" theme Love is the Strongest, I wonder if they are going to do the opposite of Kamen Rider and have an ED sequence but no OP. Looking forward to seeing Luminous debut next week! |

That episode slapped so hard! Setsuna/Bushido is an awesome character, and Reiji inspiring him to live for himself and the mission he's given himself was great. And the Gavan Blade was just chef's kiss! Love that they go into Makuu space for the climax fights just like the original. And I loved the villain this time, hoping he's not a one-off and becomes like a recurring "lieutenant" character like Hunter Killer was in the original.
So far, Toei has been able to marry the best parts of Gavan and Sentai into something awesome, and I hope it continues. I also really like Reiji/Infinite's mech design and can't wait for the other forms, and if we get different mechs from the other Gavans (I think this episode sealed it, and I'm preordering both of the Minpla sets). And we have hints of a Black Gavan, so excited to see where that goes. Lastly, we got the soft intro of the yellow Gavan and her partner. They are both really cute and I can't wait to see the dynamic between them and the other parties. Overall, this was 10x better than the already pretty good first episode. I'm enjoying the intro arc and worldbuilding, but am eager to get past this arc into the meat of the show and see where it goes. Great start so far! |
