Reiji, pursuing a new Emorgear negative wave, heads to MultiEarth Ι5109. There, he begins investigating an Emorgear incident where humans turn into bubbles, alongside the duo of Kiki Iwai and Kotobuki Takanari from the Galaxy Federal Police's Forensics Division.

So now we finally have our last of the core three Gavans appear. While I was aware Kiki is the one who is Gavan of Iota 5109, Kotobuki's fight choreo was impressive. I especially loved that pistol move where she'd strafe the ground to make sure the enemy doesn't get close.

Fun stuff again, Kiki and Koto seem like they will be an enjoyable duo. I really enjoyed the feeling that they were old friends that their casual banter created. I have a feeling I'm really going to struggle keeping all these exolayers straight though, we only have 3 so far and I'm already getting confused!
So from what I can tell so far, this is largely going to be a "interdimensional space crime of the week" show where the protagonist is hopping to a new dimension with a new Emorgear situation most of the time, with Bushido and Luminous getting their own dimension hopping abilities at some point too. I'm getting the impression this show will be consistently fun, if not particularly ambitious. |

Actually a decent episode. No major complaints this time. Maybe next time, depending on the state of the missing OP.
After that loser brother from Λ8018, Ι5109 gives us a sympathetic criminal with clear motivation and a despicable victim, which brings back the feeling of a classic Metal Hero story. The heroism of fighting to protect people, even when they don't deserve it, while encouraging the criminal to find a healthy way to deal with their tragedy. Losing a pet is something many of us can understand. The poacher may have served his sentence, but the fact that this rich man continues to live as a terrible person while Tama stays dead doesn't feel like the ideal justice, huh. However, it's not an Uchuu Keiji's job to force ex-cons to repent and Reiji does what justice needs of him. Anyway, this episode is called Kiki and Koto, so I should talk about those two. For the sake of the misdirection, I would've called it Koto and Kiki, to maintain the illusion that Koto is Gavan. Kiki has the ability to remember anything she reads, just like Melt from Ryusoulger. She's also this universe's Uchuu Keiji Gavan, despite Koto having the more conventional Keiji role compared to Kiki as a forensic specialist. Koto shines as a skilled physical fighter though, so she won't let her partner overshadow her. She also loves to eat and her first scene is talking in detail about her experience of a food dream, so I think she'll be entertaining. I was also surprised that we got to check in with Λ8018's team, where we finally saw a brief interaction between Setsuna and Amou. While Setsuna respects his chief, he's willing to lie to her about his "failure" to arrest Reiji. You might've expected a guy with limited emotions to have difficulty with that, but nope, Setsuna can lie.

Well, the third episode introduces viewers to Kiki and Koto. It's mostly dedicated to these seemingly frivolous, yet quite professional girls. Another highlight is that you'd expect the more feisty Koto to transform into Gavan Luminos, but Kiki has already seen the announcement and the Emogear theme. The theme of the episode was also quite interesting, at once childish and unobvious. Although, of course, the entire investigation was largely in the background. Overall, the show tries to show a lot and very quickly. It's sometimes confusing, but not exactly frustrating. It's quite interesting to watch Reiji travel to different universes and collaborate with different people, all while completing his mission and not causing any damage. This guy really keeps his anger in check.
I was also very pleased that while Zeztz, who is dedicated to dreams, scares us with terrifying nightmares, Koto tells us the most absurd and positive dream. Overall, I like the show, and I'm curious where it will go next. The announcement promises a new investigation in a new earth, but given the absence of Gavan from that earth in the dance ending, it seems the outcome will be different this time. Or not? Perhaps the show wants to be a light adventure procedural, at least for the first quarter. If so, I'm not against it either. Last edited by Mesnick; Today at 03:53 PM.. |

Another good episode. Some of the CGI was a little much, especially with the mech fight, but the mix of practical suit effects made it more enjoyable. I like Kiki and Koto. I already spoiled myself on who Gavan was, but I like that they tried to swerve us with the Koto fight scene. While I do enjoy the premise and direction this is going, it is getting a little convoluted across the dimensions. Hopefully, once we get out of the intro arc, it will get a little more structured. And I thought the Saber variation of the mech was cool, excited to see more.
