An incident occurs on MultiEarth A0073. Not only the First Investigation Division, but also Reiji and Colonel Date from the Archives Division rush to the scene.

The pursuit of a criminal so weak that even WaniPat's intervention doesn't prevent his capture turns into a real disaster when Dark Gavan enters the picture. It turns out that he's not only a transhuman spreading Nega Emorgears and the culprit behind the death of Reiji's mentor (which was predictable), but also the original Gavan of Earth A0073. Once Destiny's Gavan, now Death's Gavan, proves to be a dangerous and brutal opponent. He seriously wounds Daisuke, leaving Reiji virtually helpless against him. Fortunately, in a spectacular robot battle, the forces are more equal, and righteous anger helps Reiji defeat his opponent.
But ultimately, the villain escapes, and the Emorgear Syndrome occurs, merging the various Earths. Judging by the reaction and scale, the consequences should be serious, but the rest of the episode is spent announcing that Daisuke is okay. And the next episode is about a sniper hunting Setsuna. A classic plot. But despite the rushed nature and some confusion, the episode turned out very well. Yes, it could have been better prepared, but it still evokes strong emotions. And that's exactly what the show strives for. Still, I hope Death Gavan doesn't disappear for too long. And I'm really looking forward to the reveal of his story. |

Well the plot definitely seems to be moving now, though I once again find myself thinking the show could handle infodumping with more grace. I almost always find this show "fun", it has a lot of visual style, good casting, all that good stuff. But the emotional weight is ironically lacking so far.

I love Death Gavan/Gavan Destiny's naming scheme. I'm sure we'll have to wait to learn more, but I wonder if he was a hero who:
a. Foresaw the worst-case scenarios and prevented them b. Didn't foresee the future, but rather took on nearly impossible missions to change its course, thus the name Gavan Destiny.
