Quite fun this week, especially since the story is finally starting to lean into overarching stuff.
Raiya is of course the highlight this week, coming from an Exolayer Earth that seems to have a lot of shadowy business going on. It seems like Raiya is getting blackmailed by some of the other cops from his dimension. He can also dimension jump without any ill-effects, just like Reiji. Some spectacular choreography later and Raiya is in custody, leaving many questions to be answered next week. Good stuff, looking forward to seeing where this is going. |

They finally built Dolgiran for Reiji and even brought in an original melody (by the way, I always thought Dolgiran's theme was cooler than Gavan's own). But unfortunately, it's being used against Infinity due to the abilities of another newcomer, Gavan Raiya. His Earth also developed multiverse travel technology, though they're far behind Reiji's Earth in this regard. This is evident in the numbering. And now Raiya is looking for a dimension jumper to bring him to his Earth. Moreover, it seems the ninja sheriff is being blackmailed, so his goal isn't so noble. Plus, he's no less stern than Setsuna, but completely lacks his calm and prudence. And so he immediately rushes into battle.
Essentially, the bulk of the episode is the battle between Infinity and Raiya. And while it doesn't have as much emotional weight as the fight with Gavan Death, it's still magnificent. The bare-suited fight was especially surprising and delightful. Yes, the robots were a bit too cartoonish in places, but that can be overlooked. So I'm eagerly awaiting the revelation of Raiya's motives and his transformation into an ally. I also want to note that Commander Karel's psychic abilities are astounding. Judging by them and his name, is he an alien? I'd guess from Planet Bird, as a nod to the original. P.S. So, our main Gavans have the emorgearies of Anger, Sadness, Joy and Fear. Is it just me, or is Luminos on the wrong team?
