After escaping from the interrogation room on MultiEarth A0073, Kunai takes Reiji with him and crosses dimensions to MultiEarth Z2066. Waiting for them there was the Galactic Syndicate Bai Akube, the greatest enemy of the Galaxy Federal Police.

First of all, I want to point out that Tomioka has a knack for writing experienced and tough heroes as likeable, real people, not invincible gods. He's probably not the only one, but he certainly does it the best. Reiji is a very charming character, so it's no surprise that he managed to reach out to the withdrawn ninja and set him on the right path. Lulugie is also a very compelling villain, absurd, but still dangerous and even frightening. You can criticize the naivety of some moments, but it's still a kids' show. Plus, in Kunai's case, I think there's a specific code of honor that makes him trust even the promises of criminals.
I also want to praise the battles. I've done this before, and more than once, but here the show really showed off its strengths. I especially liked the combination of live-action costumes and CGI (even if it wasn't the most convincing). They could have just switched to a fully CG battle, but instead, the blended footage makes it feel real. And it's variety! Also, Dolnero finally showed his mettle against the villains. And he showed it well. Also, because of the more cartoonish design, I find myself thinking of him as the original Dolgiran's son. Or even grandson. And what could be better than two Gavans? Three Gavans! Especially since Raiya has already been added to the ending (even if not the dance), which means it's time for him to meet the other heroes. Plus, samurai and ninja have a long history. P.S. Wanibuchi made me especially laugh in this episode. And overall, the comedy is top-notch. |

I feel like a broken record but the action knocks things out of the park every week in this show. Just great, high energt fun every single time!
The plot here was interesting enough, a pair of ninja siblings getting mutually blackmailed by am incredibly hammy villian who is entitely in crime for commercial gain. I think Raiya will add a lot of fun to the mix as another dimension hopping ally, especially since next week will mark the samurai/ninja crossover that just BEGS to happen. I don't think Gavan Infinity has been an incredible, or even ambitious, show, but it has been remarkably fun to watch every week. |
