So, I don't understand this opinion, because we're talking about a franchise where most of the main villains either sit on their asses for 90% of the show, or appear at the very end and are defeated faster than the viewer can even figure out who they are. This is a great explanation of Evolt's way of thinking. He's a master improviser, who pretends to be a master planner in a "I meant to do that" kind of way that's incredulous when you consider how many variables are out of his control. This might be something that influenced Sento's personality, as he also loves to boast about his genius the same way "Souichi" boasts about his fashion sense. Evolt can be surprised by his own emotions, since he admits emotions are new to him, like when he feels sentimental towards Sento and this causes him to willingly undermine his plans various times. I certainly cannot imagine somebody like Shin Dan Kuroto self-sabotaging like that, as he's an actual master planner, zealously following his own ideals regardless of how others feel and losing his cool when his plans are derailed. Evolt has no such ideals, he just wants to enjoy the novelty of human civilization and see how far he can push the limits until it gets boring. I think he's an intriguing villain for how he is both charismatic and despicable at the same time.

I mean I don't know what else I can really say here to make my position on Evolt any clearer to be honest. I acknowledge your reading of the character, but it isn't how I read them. I read them as a lazy, one dimension, Aizen coded character whose overwhelming flatness flattens the show around them by proxy.

No, I get it, and I'm certainly not asking you to love him or admire him. I was just trying to expand the topic and find out what villains you actually like.

Oh, you mean in all Rider?! Wow, that is a hard one to say, since I am old! As you can see with my account age, most of the Rider shows I have watched, were all watched almost 15 years ago and I remember almost nothing about any of them honestly 😂

I would say go back and read my old posts to see my thoughts on stuff, as I am pretty sure I watched through Kuuga, Ooos, Fourze, W, Faiz, Wizard and Gaim during my time when I was most active here, but it also appears the person I used to be on here was kind of a massive douche! What can I say, it was a long time ago and I was a lot younger then. Doesn't forgive my actions, but maybe let us keep the past in the past. 😂

From memory though, none of those shows had particularly great primary antagonists, except Kuuga and Wizard. But I don't really remember why I felt that way, but it is just something in my memory I can sense. Maybe if you go back and read my posts I said the opposite, but please don't read those posts 😂

Out of my three most recent watches of Gavv, Build and Drive (not including Zeztz because it isn't finished), I liked Heart, Brain and Medic the most for sure. It took far too long for them to come properly online, but I thought each one of them developed into such excellent characters in the last 10 - 15 episodes.

As for the Drive trio, I think they suffer from what I call Loki syndrome. They're good characters, but bad villains. Even in the first episode, when Heart and Brain are supposed to establish themselves as the show's main villains, they steal a car and a tablet. That's not exactly a stretch for the leaders of time-slowing androids.

I guess this is where our differences in tastes come in, because I read it in an opposite way, that Heart, Brain and Medic weren't villains to themselves or other Roidmude, so them not doing overtly villainous acts is kinda the whole point.
