I think 50 years of history will keep this topic alive. I'm sure sooner or later someone will want to share their thoughts on Gingaman, for example. But whether Project Red needs a separate thread remains to be seen.Especially considering that he already automatically received separate themes for episodes, which neither Ultraman, nor Garo, nor even Dogengers were awarded.

I had that thought too, but since Project R.E.D. seems to be the successor to Sentai moving forward, it feels more important than just "other" - it's already one of the big three. Metal Heroes not having one makes sense because it wasn't ongoing. And honestly...I have a feeling we'll get Sentai seasons again, they'll just fall under the larger Project R.E.D. banner.

BUT for now, I think what you said makes the most sense. It's really just a sequel to an old Metal Heroes at this point. Interesting how Gavan was what replaced Rider in the 90s and is now what will replace Sentai. It's all over the place haha

Which has me wondering what the average Taro Tanaka who grew up on Metal Heroes since, let's go with Jiban, thought when he heard Metal Heroes is ending and he has to watch Kamen Rider as of 2000.

Probably something like, "Tetsuo Kurata is back in the lead role?" and "I wonder how long Kamen Riders will last this time?" But I think Toei tried to make sure the transition was met with enthusiasm. Although Kabutack has its fans, too. The Chinese special of 2025 is proof of this.

A thought occurs.

In rewatching Transformers Animated, I started wondering if Go-Busters took inspiration from the Season 2 storyline.

In Go-Busters, Enter spreads cards with an imprint of Messiah all over, which can convert regular objects into a MOTW. In Animated, the Allspark is shattered and the fragments can bring vehicles and machines to life.

Remember, Animated did have a Japanese dub, and Go-Busters came out a few years after Animated was released in general, so the timeframe does track some.

So, I finished Chojin Sentai Jetman, the oldest sentai series I personally watched. And damn did I love it!

I've been following a few Youtubers that summarized Fiveman and Liveman, which inspired me to seek those seasons out.

But one thing I was curious about with Liveman -- was Hurricaneger influenced by this season? Having the main three be the same (or close enough) animals, as well as have the later two members join up (Rhino ≈ Kabuto, Bull ≈ Stag) felt intentional to some degree.

Please, let me know if I'm completely off base.

I don't know if there's any official confirmation, but Hurricaneger is clearly inspired by Liveman. Because the main trio, besides their mechs, also share the same colors and genders. There are also plot similarities. So yes, given Liveman's relative popularity, I think someone working on Hurricaneger wanted to make a next-gen version.

Not at all. There weren't any official statements as far as I'm aware of, but it's just way too obvious. Heck, I remember back in 2002 where the first thing I thought was Liveman Ninjas.
Even the story setup is strikingly similar where the slacker trio of an academic institute are the only survivors after the majority of the school is wiped out by the villains. And yes, Gouraigers invoked Black Bison and Green Sai a lot for me as well, back in 2002.
Also, and I've pointed this a number of times in the past, but Shurikenger HAS to be a tribute to Dragon Ranger from Zyuranger, considering the show aired exactly a decade after Zuuranger.

It was a total WTF moment for me because of it.
Come to think of it, I do wonder if it's the same case for Megaranger and Denziman in that certain elements were inspirations and were incorporated. Because the way both teams' visors are shaped like the blade of a battleaxe and electronics are involved as a motif in some way.
