Sougo must have forgotten that he can turn back time in Zi-O II form as he did in the Ryuga and Kikai episodes or he would have turned back time to save people from dying and stopping Schwartz from getting decade's powers.

I think that the expression you're searching is "plot convenience/plot armor" which is what Schwartz currently has.

I guess I can see where ohma zi o comes in, to allow tsukuyomi to live n destroy swatrz, the only way was to choose ohma zi o path... like decade who took up the destroyer of worlds to save the different world dimensions...

Hey everyone, guess what time it is!
Well, honestly, it's probably way past time for me to be realizing this, but Woz became a space wizard at some point? Like, that's actually super awesome, and until seeing all the fancy tricks he pulled in this episode, I think my disappointment over Ginga Finally being introduced the way it was prevented me from noticing that. Now if I could only "finally" figure out what's going on with that name, I might even start liking it. Of course, I never really decided if I like regular Woz's design to begin with... Okay, I'm getting way off track here. But not that much, because this episode more than lives up to its promise of Woz-related antics. I especially appreciate how White Woz's titular operation hinged on using Zi-O Trinity in a clever way. It reminded me of how the Mighty Brothers XX Gashat in Ex-Aid kept finding ways to pop back into that show long after its time, and when I'm saying the writing here is as slick as Ex-Aid, you know you're in for a good time. The episode keeps jumping from interesting beat to interesting beat, and I think the only one that doesn't land is Hora's non-gambit to take out Swartz. I mean, come on, was that seriously the best you think of? But aside from that, it's pretty much straight gold, and like FreshToku said, the way the scene with Geiz in the Another World plays out is awesome. It's exactly the kind of surprisingly deep pathos I so did not expect from this show early in its run. On top of subverting expectations, it delivers a lot of the emotion through the implications of what's being shown without ever totally spelling it out, which just makes it hard that much harder. On a more minor note, I find it funny how Sougo went from taking a full minute to transform into Grand Zi-O to just doing it between shots these last few episodes. Oh, and they totally ripped off the cliffhanger here from episode 47 of Build. The main hero dramatically shouting the bad guy's name after the death(?) of his blue buddy? Seriously, the way the very end plays out, with all the audio fading out except Sougo's voice, is so similar I'm convinced it was a deliberate homage.

A good episode, evenly paced, but 4 episodes from the ending and I don't feel the endgame stress kicking in.
I loved White-Woz's role and I am glad they didn't reverse his change-of-heart from the last time we saw him. Honestly, seeing him again reminded me how much I missed those little mannerisms that differed from Black-Woz. Plus, the Woz vs Woz fight was cool, however (intentionally) brief it was. Instructing Sougo to use Trinity, his creation, was some pretty good writing. Eternal also had some great moments. He had some fun fights with Aqua (seriously, that beach location is ACE) and even performed two Maximum Drive's, the second being a recreation of his Ultimate Armament attack from AtoZ. And on the topic of Double, it was super exciting to hear his battle theme play while Zi-O fought Eternal in Double Armour. Redirecting his attack to destroy the Another World was pretty cool and I'm glad Daido was okay with getting erased since it means he at least got a happy ending. Kinda heartbreaking to see Geiz's world of possibilities and I hope all ends well for him and Sougo. Also, it was cool to see Yuki again but a lot of these Dark Rider suits got wasted. Only G4 used a special attack. I loved the dramatic music that played when they figured out Schwarz's target was Sougo all along... Like DUH. Ora's death was boring, so fitting for a boring character. Now the real kicker here is that they killed Aqua! I didn't believe they had the creative liberty to kill off a Legend Rider and then they go off and do it! And just when he was starting to feel like a part of the main cast! I kind of doubt he's gone for good though. He'll be back when the timeline resets, mark my words. |
