But also without knowing the materials it's made out of is definitely part of it. At the current costs, it feels like there's more to the product than mentioned. And it's painted gorgeously to exact detail too. So premium paint apps probably are part of the cost too besides whatever materials they used. Licensing fees and other collector market stuff probably did up the price some too. And they may have invested more in development to pay their design crew too. But that cost makes that design from a 'will buy' to a 'have to win the lottery to buy'. So it's definitely on my wish list, but so are the Fate figures, for a time I get extra money to the point I don't have to pay attention to what I spend. As it is, Desktop Army/Megahouse is already about to start taking chunks of my collector hobbyist spare cash. Ugh, my shopping list keeps growing and growing. Japan and Hasbro sure know how to convince me to spend money. |

Yeah, I was basing it off the assumption it is 100% plastic. If there are metal parts involved then maybe 75 bucks including the assist weapons. Unless it is double the size 168 bucks is still steep for my standards. But regards to the license fees you do have a point.

Though yeah, really depends on how much the licensing cost was, and how much on top of that. That's what really made the Fate figures so pricey. Licensing being higher for various extra reasons and the premium paint apps. This in particular though, I really hope it's not because of the company over-profiting per sale, and has more to do with well paid employees on the design and engineering side for a durable well made product that'll last. It's annoying when we end up with a fragile piece that'll break at the first sneeze but it's priced out the wazoo for company profits only. I want this company to succeed in making great material, and the product does look fantastic, but I'm also not really a fan of companies that gouge the fandoms for the sake of gouging either. Though in this case, from all that detailing and paint, and the shimmer, it really looks like a lot of passion was poured into this piece and care. This is borderline some Transformers 3p pricing. So it kind of feels like this may be a launching point for new endeavors with future material starting to get that under control as they develop better contacts and contracts to manufacturing too. Looking at it from that perspective of pricing alongside licensing fees, and it starts to make sense why it costs so much. Does have a bit of an SOC feel to it too. *Edit* Really need to learn to pay attention to company names. Yeah it's Megahouse, same company that does Desktop army. They pay their employees really well and are relatively newer. That explains a lot on the cost now. Megahouse does some great work too and are working to expand their reach. So this is definitely a materials/manufacturing and license thing on the cost as well as them starting to build outward in the material they do. Can't believe I overlooked that detail that this is Megahouse. xD Them of all people I should have recognized the craftsmanship. Last edited by Librarian; 09-13-2018 at 09:10 PM.. |

Yeah thats . . . rough.
From the waist up, its extreeeemely busy; the lower half is so skinny and you can see the inner Gridman's waist and upper legs exposed Surely there is a better version of this? It just seems like there isn't a coherent . . . style or theme to this
