I'm saying they would've written the show to not have those contradictions. Either they wouldn't have had Ecliptor claim he was built evil, or they would've done a story where Ecliptor foudn out his true origins, and his memories of being evil from construction were fabricated/misunderstood. It's not difficult to wrap your head around.
Also, I don't get what the point of your first sentence is. So what if Tommy's reaction was shown? Tommy and Kimberly had WAY more settup than Billy and the Aquetian... and there's nothing saying Billy would've had to dump her to become the Phantom Ranger. He hooked up with one of the alien Rangers, right? She should know that he may have to go away on Ranger duty. Hell, maybe she convinced him to be the Phantom Ranger, as the Alien Rangers were busy defending Aquatar. Billy did not leave for an Alien Ranger, just a one-time character likely created to make the Yost-less departure in Zeo make sense. Phantom & Cassie was a running thing through Turbo, and he addressed it mildly after they obtained the Delta Megazord. It seems odd that he would be dating a denizen of Aquitar AND tease a Pink he never interacted with before! |

Again, perhaps if the Phantom Ranger was Billy the Cassie relationship wouldn't have happened.
I didn't here the part about Ecliptor being built by Billy. My eyes (ears?) must've glossed over. But again, I can only assume the ideas were replaced by what actually happened, rather than add to the existing story. I.e., Ecliptor would've been built by Billy or raised Karone, not built by Billy and raised Karone. |

Switching from the Phantom Ranger identity argument!
What is the deal with "Scorpion Rain"? I've only heard bits and pieces and have never been really interested, but a few short answers to short questions will suffice: - Why is it even called "Scorpion Rain"? - I know it's not real, but didn't the guy behind "Forever Red" arguably treat it as real? - How many of the Zeo-era Zords were involved and did it suggest their fate, from the Zeo Megazord to Auric to Warrior Wheel? |
