So I was curious about this strange taiwano-japanese co-production with Gen Urobuchi involved, and I've caught up on the show.
I never thought I would say that about a show with puppets, but man it seriously kicks ass. The only bad thing I have to say is that it's not on weekly release !

Great looking show, enjoyable characters, not much substance to it though. I enjoy watching it because it looks pretty and I've grown to like the characters (I especially adore XÃ*ng HÃ*i) but I feel like the pacing is way off. They took it really slow with getting the journey started, and now 2 of the 3 out worldly challenges they build up on go down in one episode? What?
I mean, it was neat (especially Shāng Bù HuÃ*n ending up in trouble twice) but why so fast all of a sudden? I realize the show will probably end before the twenty mark, but still. Wish they’d either cut some build up or a few characters to flesh it out a bit. Because with the pacing all over the place it doesn’t feel right, especially if they rush the ending now. Do we know how long this will run? Because if this is just a first half which introduces another problem ala "Legend of Zelda" I won’t complain, but I don't see it happening. |

I have to agree with Kiwami, they built up how important and dangerous the trials were going to be and they finished most of them in one episode. BTW, I might've missed it, but how many episodes will this show have? Is the next episode the last one?

I think it's 13, but I haven't seen any real confirmation of it.

I'm still loving the hell out of it. I don't think they needed to waste time on the trials if they had the right pieces to overcome them quick.
