A lot of people aren't realizing that this isn't just Power Rangers. There is a Turtles one and possibly others. Plus this is not Bandai.

The thing about Skylanders is that the kids who originally got into them are aging out. The original sets were release in Oct. 2011. That's more than enough time for kids to "get over" that obsession.
Now there's competition from Disney Infinity. And that brand is entering it's 2.0 stage in a month or so. On top of that, Nintendo's set is due to come out at some point in early 2015 (?) so this set with MMPR is going to have a LOT of competition. But that doesn't get to what really concerns me. The game. Bandai of America hasn't proven that they can make a decent game to go along with these figures. Hell, most of the games they produces are terrible. And if the game isn't fun these things won't sell. At all. |
