What're people talking about when they're saying Lucky "grew out of it?" He never stopped annoying the audience with his catchphrase, in fact, it got to the point where it became contagious & spread out to the entire frickin team!!! In fact, didn't the Finale have the entire frickin population at one point saying it?! If that doesn't scream "Gary Stu," I don't know what else does, and that's one of the biggest things that keeps me from ever liking Lucky as a Red Ranger in Super Sentai. He's AWFUL, and definitely one of the worst we've gotten in years.
Lucky was difficult to deal with in the first episode, but I felt that he grew into a strong leader fairly quickly. He was able to rally the team in desperate times and his team supported him in the most dangerous and uncertain of situations. He's got a catchphrase...well, so do most other Sentai reds as of late? Lucky was rarely ever selfish and believed in his friends at times they were doubting themselves - which I think is where his mantra about having good luck works out. It's not that he believes everything is going to work out all the time because he's got great luck, it's that, to him, his luck is being surrounded by people he trusts to help reach a collective goal and that's why he's always got such a confident attitude. |

Honestly, while I get why people thought Lucky was annoying with his catchphrase, I'd still say he's better than Takaharu in that department.
Purely because Lucky knows how to emote and use his vocal cords to yell, when he calls out "Yosha Lucky!" you can tell his actor is putting his all into it. Takaharu meanwhile with his "I'm fired up!" or whatever catchphrase, it feels like the actor is trying to bring it out in a yell but is purposely holding himself back and making it more awkward, which in turn just makes it worse overall. |

Although, I could blame the head writer for the reason of why Ninninger was bad Sentai show but I feel Toei was overhyping and pushing way too hard on Ninninger as “greatest anniversary Sentai show” and it wasn’t anniversary show they wanted and it might be considered to be the biggest disaster for Sentai. I think Ninninger might be one of forgettable Sentai show IMO. |

Either way, the 'anniversary' stuff is one of the things I'd highlight as a positive of the show. It was intelligently used, helped solidify the show's themes, and provided some nice worldbuilding -- which I find especially important when otherwise the show's worldbuilding is incredibly confusing.

I feel most of actors expect Kasumi’s actor were inexperienced actors and their acting style was not good.

"never stopped annoying the audience" is hella presumptuous, dude.

Lucky was an inspirational leader, I'll give him that. But he is a HORRIBLE character. He has ZERO character development, and instead just preaches to others on improving their flaws. He's a Gary Stu who has little towards actually EARNING anything. There's a reason why Reds like Takeru are revered as the best: Because they had flaws they needed to overcome within themselves, and end up being better than they were at the beginning.

I heavily dislike that Lucky's big developments, revelations and powerups all happen not because he himself has learned anything or moves forward as a person but because he just happens to have cool dads. He gets power to save the universe because it turns out he was a prince all along.
It's such an incredibly old and bad message that I'm amazed it's not portrayed as ironic.

Lucky is pretty terrible, however, the rest of the cast is awesome enough to make up for it.
Daigo on the other hand, needs to be given a catheter filled with bullet ant venom while being beaten with a sack of africanized bees. |

On an entirely unrelated note, I just realized a great way to end my Kamen Rider Ghost Onari fanfic. |
