To everyone who wants to go back to previous regions in the same game: Stop being stupid. This isn't a size or memory thing, it's a logic thing. Going through one region without level grinding, just battling the trainers, evil organization, and gym leaders (And subsequently the E4) can have your team rounding out level 60. Add in 5 more regions and you'd be a walking god halfway through the Hoenn.
Yes, it would seem like fun, but after a certain point, battles with your level 100 mons vs. their lv 20 mons would just seem tedious and busy work (Remember, in GS/HGSS, only the Gym Leaders got the level boost. The normal trainers still fought with their lv. 5 Pidgeys and etc in Kanto). And there would be no challenge. Unless the game forces you to pull an Ash, there would be nothing fun. Quote:
Anyway, like the starters, looks like Fire isn't paired with Fighting, so thank god (Early rumors are that it's part Psychic), the Grass type is currently rumored to have the Fighting half (GOOD GOD GAMEFREAK. No one likes Fighting starters. Stop making them :I), and, as usual, I really don't care about the Water type.

Were we talking about Black and White 2 this whole time? Then disregard my previous comments about difficulty because I have not played those yet.

That was one of the better additions I will admit, its when you have things like the lucky egg being handed to you that I will argue gen 5 is the easiest Pokemon has been. Quote:

From the looks of the trailer, it seems that the starters may eventually be these types-
Chespin- Grass/Dark Fennekin- Fire/Psychic Froakie- Water/Fighting. Which oddly reminds me of the second set of starters I designed last year...and Fennekin even reminds me a bit of my Fire Starter Porgi, primarily in the idea that it is a form of canine with "fiery bits" on it's ears and tail. Nintendo, you got some 'xplaining to do!

You know, I'm kinda glad that the new game won't come out til October 2013. Gives me enough time to gather money to get a 3DS

This looks good but I just don't like the new trainer sprites. I really hope that was just for the advert.

I initially wasn't going to stay up to watch the announcement since it was at 5am my time. But I was still up a little bit after 4am and figured why not. I hoped the news was good and it did not disappoint. I was spazzing out in awe during the live stream when they showed the XY preview.

For me, beating gyms itself isn't too hard, I think the difficulty has improved. Beating gyms now feels more like an epic accomplishment compared to the relatively easy leaders of last time. The difficulty in the main story itself is just right for me, it's just in what happens after that it becomes very difficult.
I need to start thinking of getting one too. It's like it always has been, I never buy a Nintendo handheld until a mainline Pokémon game is released on it. It has been that way since the very first Generation with the Gameboy. But all of Nintendo's handhelds have been home to at least one mainline Pokémon game. I kind of expect it now. Unless Pokémon has clear signs of fading away, this will be the norm for a while. Haha I've had mine since it released. If that Luigi's Mansion 2 bundle with a green 3DS turns out to be real, then I'll be selling my black one. I already have a friend who may want to buy it though. IF that happens.

Haha. The purple one is nice! Really close to Christmas, my Toys R Us only had the purple ones in stock, which was sort of surprising since it was one of the more impressive colors. I actually helped out a family in getting one. The parents were worried the purple was too girly for their son.
