Honestly, I would have reversed the the civilian and "ranger" forms for the bots. The civilian forms make more sense to me to be the Ranger forms because they're more streamlined and would be easier for combat scenarios. But then again, mech fights are a thing. *makes weighing motion*

I suspect Secchan is a deliberate nod to Navi. The design of the Geartlinger recalls Go-Onger's Speedor. I'm curious to see whether it'll have a more direct Go-Onger connection; maybe a guest appearance by Go-On Red in the first episode? They got him to return in Strongest Battle, so it seems plausible.
Green keeps popping up in the designs of Secchan and ZenKaiser alongside the colors of the team members, leading me to suspect our sixth hero will be green. From the look of ZenkaiMagine here, I get a better sense of how the toys will work than I did with the actual suit shots. Magine's feet clearly snap together to form a dragon head. The mechanism for how they split still eludes me, but Magine makes me think it's actually back-to-front. The combined forms make it clear there's at least a little parts-forming, as part of Vroom is attached to the opposite leg. (Maybe they're planning on quite a lot of parts-forming, since I gather the Ryusoulger mecha did well, although that success was probably more about the modularity. I also suspect the toy designers wanted another crack at the "mouth opens to reveal a head" thing from Kishiryu Neptune.) There's nothing in these that suggest how a four-way combination would work. I wonder if the fangy inner thighs of the Gaon/Zyuran combination will translate to a potentially-hilarious attack on the show. The alternate forms for the mecha are interesting. Red and yellow look great as a combined mecha, look decent enough in their individual mecha forms, and the good stuff all seems to have come at the cost of good-looking animal forms. That is the worst toku lion I've seen, and yes, I'm including Cube Lion. The combined form of pink and blue doesn't look nearly as appealing as red/yellow, but their other forms are pretty good. (Well, Magine's robot form is... just a lot of stuff going on at once.) The pre-transformation robots are fine, and clearly give Bandai more stuff to market. Magine's... I mean, the design is cute, but it's a little too stereotype-hyperfeminine for me. I continue to suspect that the need for masks had a profound impact on the choices made for this season. The Geartlinger looks like it might separate into two devices; I think it has a split-in-half thing going on. Then again, I could be wrong, and it's just reconfigurable into a sword because that's how toku works. I am SO eager to see the mechanics of how the mecha toys work, now! It doesn't look nearly as simple as other mecha of recent year, and I consider that a good thing. |

Yup, Zenkaiger is definitely Kamen Rider meets Metal Heroes meets Super Sentai show.
You got one human and four robots that doesn't have human forms. I wonder if Shirakura wanting Zenkaiger to be more of a Kamen Rider show and Metal Heroes show than Super Sentai show? * Zenkaiser- Kamen Rider * ZenkaiJuran, ZenkaiGaon, ZenkaiMagine and ZenkaiVroon- Metal Heroes |

I don't hate the idea, but it does leave one wondering which combination is the "Main Combination Mecha". Say we have another 199 Special again and the Main Mecha of every series pops back in again...which combination here would take the cake? I've also been thinking of something of late: The Mecha designs of the four Kikanoids are based on a pattern we've seen before! In Go-Busters VS. Gokaiger, there was a Gokai Change using "Megazord Keys": Daizyujin GaoKing-GaoKentaurus GekiTouja-FlashKing-Ryuuseioh DaiBouken MagiKing Apparently, these have been fan-favorite designs for years. P.S.: The little Gears are denoted using the visage of a Sentai Red next to its series number. Will LupinRed and Patren #1 carry the distinctive "they're two different teams" designation we've been told to accept? |

I can't believe I didn't notice this before.
https://twitter.com/AhoyImHarker/sta...28587518251009 Each of the Robot's "civilian" form is based on a civilian counter part. The half and half combining is clearly a nod to Kikaider too.

Honestly, I REALLY love those unmorphed robot suits, they're hitting my love of Transformers and nostalgia for Bionicle and Megaman in all the right ways. I would seriously watch a show just set in a world of robots where all/most of the characters looked like that (maybe slimmed down just slightly more and mixed with normal human clothes, just to avoid blowing the costume budget), even if there weren't any other toku elements.
Next to that, all the rest of this just isn't grabbing me. I'm curious to see how the combinations work in toy form, but that's about it.

So i guess only the main 5 will get special gear medal coin the rest are general cell medal like teams. Lupin gets 42. Some people thinks all 5 will have base forms and will transform in to zord forms. However, it's weird during press shot pink is the only one getting the base slim form.

Pehaps he pops it open and slots his transformation gears in between the black and red sections. and uses the silver section purely for attacks/summoning his possible mecha down the road etc... Also its definitely a shame that Gaon's mecha animal form is kinda not very lion like... ZyuranTyrano actually makes me think of that PR movie from a few years back oddly enough. |

This leak also mention about Zenkaiser living with his grandmother who owns sweets shop/cafe called “Colorful”.
Hmmm.... Zenkaiser: Hey grandma! look what I got! 4 robot friends! Zenkaiser's grandma: Robots?! (Faints) Just imagine her reaction of her grandson making friends with robots! |
