Hence my statement. Out of 36 Sentai series, there wasn't even an animal mecha until the 12th, meaning the "95%" statistic is immediately thrown out the window.

What we need is the total number of mechas and the total number of alive mechas. We can calculate the percentage from there. We'd have to do the calculations twice for both Sentai and PR. The question is, who's willing to count them?
I think Gaoranger would at least get this close to a 50% draw if not put it in the favor of alive mechas. |

do you define the dinothunder zords as alive? they behaved as such in their first appearance but not after that.
id rough estimate 15% for PR and closer to 50% for SS |

Dino Thunder's were alive, sort of... I think they were biozords of something. They came out of eggs, if that counts
