Nin-Nin Game would probably be your best option but they can still be unreliable. They recently shipped out my OOO Driver and the stated price on that was lowered to try and avoid customs charges. You could also see about getting something shipped to an american friend who can then send you it as a gift. Otherwise, all the normal ones apply -- Zenmarket etc.

Yeah, it's generally random chance. Mandarake seems to have the worst luck, but that might just be because they don't mark down, but then sometimes I'll get something easily over the customs limit just sail through. It's just a risk of collecting over here. You could go for a UK based store, but then that's gonna b marked up due to the extra handling needed.

Don’t do it. Their Twitter is loaded with complaints from customers who are waiting for either 1) their items or 2) the Refund, of which they are giving “store credit” which means if you do use it, your back to square one of them actually going through with sending it...

Great news folks, I found a service that can finally take the place of the long-defunct Figinstock!

My last order from nin-nin-game finally arrived (again only after I messaged them after waiting a month after the item's release). And it's likely this will be my last order from them.
I don't think they are a scam site or anything, but you really need to stay on top of your pre-orders and make use of their messaging system if you want to get your stuff anywhere near on time. I still have no idea how their shipping works.

Is it just a matter of orders being late?

Well its mostly a matter of them not shipping anything until you ask about it.
I waited on an item for 2 months after the stated release date with no signs of shipping other than a "processing" status on my orders page. So then I created a support ticket and then they replied saying they would ship it, and it took about 2 weeks before they actually shipped it. Once they did, because it was DHL, it arrived in just a few days. My most recent order I waited a little over a month and same thing played out. The only time they have ever shipped me an item on their own volition was my first purchase from them many many months ago and even that was a little late compared to when the item started showing up at retail channels. As for the shipping costs, some of listings include the shipping (averages about $12.50 to the US) but others don't have shipping and it seems random. Buying an item with the included shipping, they'll make a fuss about paying extra to cover shipping costs once its ready to ship; and the ones without shipping you're kind of at their mercy for FEDEX and DHL, which is around $22+ At this point I just feel more comfortable ordering from Tokullectibles, Sure Things Toys, or Gundamplanet.

Update for my Nippon-Yassan orders
Got an email this morning stating they reached maximum storage capacity and my item will be shipped by ferry, as they can no longer keep orders. So despite them alerting me I needed to change my shipping method, and my best efforts to try to at least confirm if they could consolidate my other items, they're just sending it off on a boat. But hey, at least I didn't have to pay for that "additional fee" Hopefully I get a tracking number once it's processed So yea, I wouldn't recommend these guys. Their prices aren't all that great and it takes several weeks to months for them to receive the item after the release date. But the deal breaker for me was their almost non-existing customer service. A backlog of tickets that don't get replies and a live chat that couldn't do anything related to shipping requests ( a feature they've since disabled ) TBH, I would even go as far as to recommend to just wait for the item to show up on Mandarake or such place over ordering from N-Y. Don't even use them as your last resort haha. If you absolutely need the item, there are better places out there. If you have any outstanding orders, I guess you can just wait it out for them to dump it on a boat eventually, so don't bother contacting them for a shipping change. |
