So... a random Studio Trigger anime popped up on my Netflix a few weeks ago? I never heard of BNA before but man it was super fun.
The gorgeous animation is worth the ticket of admission alone but I also really liked the characters. Mari the Mink is my favorite |

Either way I'm gonna rewatch it in a few weeks since it's short but sweet. |

Currently watching three shows; one completed, two as they air
Demon Slayer: Though parts of this show are almost painfully generic shonen, the rest of it is pretty awesome. I hope it has somewhat of a MOTW-style format with Tanjiro going on various missions in various locations to fight various demons, but with a serialized overarching plot. Jujutsu Kaisen: I've only seen the first episode, but I liked it so far. Similar to Demon Slayer, the shonen core of the series was super generic, but I liked the rest of the setup. Looking forward to seeing more. Dragon Quest - Dai no Daibouken: Oddly enough, after criticizing the generic elements of the two above-mentioned shows, the most generic of the three is the one I'm most excited about. But this one is generic because it was imitated so frequently. I love it because it's everything that defined anime for me growing up, and I feel like a kid watching Pokemon or Rurouni Kenshin for the first time again.

Saw The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited. Soundtrack is fire, story is decent. Has its moments.

There's not much these days on streaming services that appeal to me besides Vinland Saga. I don't have much time to watch a full series like I used too, but I still like to watch anime movies and shorter OVAs from time to time.
What I watch this year so far: Re-Watch: Barefoot Gen (1983) - 9/10 Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer (1984) - 8.5/10 Fist of the North Star (1985) - 8.5/10 Vampire Hunter D (1985) - 8/10 Devilman: The Birth (1987) - 8.5/10 Take the X Train (1987) - 7/10 Twilight of the Cockroaches (1987) - 7/10 Wicked City (1987) - 9/10 Devilman: Demon Bird (1990) - 8/10 Mad Bull 34 (1990) - 9/10 (For being so bad, it's good) Ninja Scroll (1993) - 10/10 Bio-Hunter (1995) - 7/10 Black Jack: The Movie (1996) - 8.5/10 Perfect Blue (1997) - 10/10 Millennium Actress (2001) - 9/10 Tekkonkinkreet (2006) - 9/10 Mazinkaizer SKL (2010) - 8.5/10 First Viewing: Children Who Chase Lost Voices (2011) - 8/10 The Case of Hana & Alice (2015) - 9/10 Napping Princess (2017) - 7/10 Lu Over the Wall (2017) - 7.5/10 Sturgill Simpson Presents Sound & Fury (2019) - 7/10 Weathing with You (2019) - 8/10 Dragon Quest: Your Story (2020) - 6/10

The s-CRY-ed blu-ray set is finally coming stateside. Meaning Discotek Media is now my favorite anime distributor. And it gives me an excuse to watch one of my favorite anime ever for like the sixth time. Seriously, if you guys haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
