out of all the old classic tokusatsu heroes outside of your kamen riders, ultramen, super sentians, one of my all time favorite heroes is Kikaida
These two items (autograph of the original actor) and the original volume 1 of the manga were acquired at the past two a-kon's here in texas thanks to the awsome folks at Monster Attack Team, whom i'm good friends with. I've been really wanting to check out kikaida, but the only way to see the tokusatsu is buy the dvd's for a good amount of money. but, in the early 2000's there was an anime made which was an adaptation of the manga. comparing the first few episodes to the manga its a scene by scene recreation and the anime is very good. Kikaida is very much worth checking out, anyone out there into kikaida like me? (most likely into it way more than me lol)

I've watched a few episodes and about one or two of the anime. Kikaida is a series I enjoyed very much and to this day I'm sad they don't show it on TV anymore.

I haven't seen the show itself, but I did see the Hakaider movie and that was really cool. I'm also a really big fan of Kikaider's spiritual successor Metalder.

I first found out about Kikaider in an old daikaiju fanzine called The Kaiju Review. I was immediately intrigued with the series and wanted to get more information. I loved the idea of the Dark Corps and all the animal-based monsters. But this was pre-Internet, so I had to back burner that until I got to college and the information super-highway (remember that term?) was opened up to me.
Kikaider to me will always be one of the classics of the genre, even if more people nowadays know it from the anime then from the tokusatsu. I liked the anime but it was way too short. Generation Kikaida has DVDs available of Kikaider, Kikaider 01, and Inazuman, as well as Kamen Rider V3. A little pricey but very good quality from what I have seen.
