Even if there shows were hit or miss, some sentais just look awesome. The overall theme of the suits, mecha, weapons, etc. just looks great, and perfectly compliments a good show or makes a bad sentai at least somewhat entertaining to watch. What are your top 5 sentai aesthetics? I'll start this off with mine:
5- Gekiranger (I love the more organic-looking mecha, and the suits look great) 4- Abaranger (the stylized dino head helmets on the Abarangers look fantastic, and the mecha are IMO the bet of the three dino-themed seasons) 3- Gokaiger (pirates, need I say more?) 2- Boukenger (I love the detailed-looking mecha, and the something about the suits just looks right) 1- Go-Busters (Yes I know, everyone's least favorite. But I loved the Go-Busters suits, the were just so shiny and sleek. Everything had such a futuristic feel and even the mecha have their own charm) So, how about you?

1. Gokaiger
2. Go-Busters 3. Zyuranger 4. OhRanger 5. TimeRanger Honorable mention: Hurricanger, for the Gouraigers and Shurikenger; and Akibaranger, for taking the unorthodox design trends of Go-Busters and pushing it as far as it could go.

1. Megaranger
- The 1990's concept of all things digital is interesting - Video game superheroes - Simple, clean, somewhat unified, and timeless designs 2. Shinkenger - A good example of incorporating kanji - The suits felt like a good mixture of matte black and bright, shiny colors - Simple yet effective in delivering a "wafu(和風)" aestethic 3. Carranger - The attention to detail in the suits and mecha are hard to find in other sentai which somehow works well with the goofball + comedic nature of the team 4. Gekiranger - The Bruce Lee gymsuit is back! A good example of deviating done well - I like how the suits look sporty being that their front op is a sports brand and contrasts the traditional aesthetic of the Rinjuden 5. Go-onger - The racer (and pilot for Go-onwings) aesthetic in the suits worked very well - Seatbelts incorporated into the suit looked awesome

5. Magiranger - The wizard theme is executed well, mostly aided by the nice looking capes. The mecha looks great and I love the wizard hat, and the suits as a whole are great to look at.
4. Kakuranger - I really love the ninja theme by having the suits be incredibly simple and basic. I don't know why the simplicity draws me in, but it does. Also, it has some awesome mech designs. 3. Dairanger - The white vest I would normally have a problem with, but with Dairanger, it works. I think what I enjoy most about it, though, are the helmets. 2. Go-Busters - They take full advantage of their combat theme by making their designs very sleek and taking advantage of function over form. 1. Gekiranger - Bruce Lee's signature yellow suit turned into Power Rangers. Awesome. The lack of a belt helps give them a signature style and makes their moves seem more flowing and lively. I love them~

5. Kakuranger - Hurricanger may be my favorite (official) Sentai, by it's predecessor just owned the ninja theme. Kakuranger's suits are just perfect for the ninja theme in how simple and devoid of detail they are. Sure the color scheme isn't the best for stealth, but they do give off a genuine ninja vibe. This carries over into the mecha and obviously Ninja Man quite well. The weapons fit, but not all that well with only a few coming off as weapons ninja would actually use. Weapons and stealth issues aside though, Kakuranger is the best example of the ninja theme of the two we've had. It has it's problems, but the look does in fact come off as ninja.
4. Gaoranger - I've made no secret that the Gaoranger suits are my personal favorites of the entire franchise, so it makes sense that they'd probably appear on the list. While we've had countless animal themed Sentais I don't think anyone made it look so godly beautiful as Gao did. The ranger suits are just beautiful and fit the animal theme perfectly in the helmets. The mecha are what really steal the show though as everyone is perfect looking. No Jetman BS here where only two come off as animal themed or all the mechas look like animals but the combined forms don't, the Gao mechs look like animals no matter what form they're in. The only thing that makes Gao not so high is the fact that I don't find the weapons to really be that well fitting with the animal theme. In the end the Gaoranger aesthetic is one of the best, but the lack of fully themed weapons hurt it in my eyes. 3. Go-Busters - A show that gets a mixed reaction ends up having one of the best aesthetics of the show. Everything comes off as being futuristic, high tech, and while not fully dips into it, does come off as a spy type of show. But the spy theme works not so well as nothing comes of as stealth like. However the futuristic and high tech themes are pulle of phonemically. The core suits are sleek and fitting, the bulked up sets coming off as techy and robotic. The weapons are the best part of the aesthetic as they do combine regular technological items with futuristic ideals to create cool looking tools of destruction. The mecha look nice and sleek as well, they even throwing in a small animal theme in with the high tech one for a very nice looking combo. All in all the Go-Busters aesthetic is one of the best. I'd truly believe them to be from the future anyday. 2. Carranger - The aesthetic of this show comes so very close to being a full on 10/10. Unfortunately what does hold the number one spot kinda makes it hard to put Carranger at number ichi. But that means these designs aren't nothing to fret about, as Caranger's aesthetic is the second most perfect of the group. Every suit, the mecha, the weapons, everything just screams cars and automobiles. The designs fit the theme of show tight like a glove and constantly remind you "Yo there kids, you're watching a show based around vehicles!" Go-Onger did an okay job, but Carranger knocks it out of the park and into the dead of space. 1. Magiranger- While the other teams did really well with their respective themes, never have I seen a Sentai who just fully took on the theme of the show and perfectly transferred it into their aesthetic. If someone was to ask me what a fantasy Sentai would look like, Magiranger would be the perfect way to describe it. While all of the teams do manage to use the theme well in the aesthetic, Magiranger embraces it fully. All of the suits (both team, mecha, and monsters) come off as being something mystical that one would find in any fantasy novel, movie, game, comic, and round of D&D. Magiranger is just an all around perfect example of a Sentai being given the ball of a theme, running with it, and hitting touchdown after touchdown. Every area of design is just perfect looking. While I personally wouldn't consider them some of my favorite designs that doesn't make me blind to how great they are. The Magiranger aesthetic is perfect, 10/10, 'nuff said.
