Once again we're bringing you a Gokai Machine gallery from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger!
Today's subject is the grand power of Hurricaneger, DX Gokai Machine Furaimaru! Furaimaru is of course based on the character of the same name from Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger. In fact just like Gaolion he's meant to specifically BE the character he represents, albeit in a new modified body. As you can see here, Gokai Machine Furaimaru differs greatly from the original. The Gokai version isn't constrained with the need to fit into Karakuri Balls, but at the same time is constrained by the design of it's massive spring loaded shurikens. The Gokai Version also opted for green over the originals blue. The green itself and the very overt shuriken theme are obvious homages to Shurikenger and his mecha Tenkuujin. The figure itself is very similar to Gokai Machines Magi Dragon and Patstrike in that it breaks down into 5 components and can be fully stored in Gokai Oh's compartments when not used. When the Gokai Oh dial gimmick is activated the spring loaded shurikens in the arms and legs will spring forward. Now they may appear to be cumbersome, and that's because they are! They're very big and look very silly, but this isn't far off from the Gokai Oh's on screen appearance. The new helmet and chest piece are spring loaded like the other parts, however it doesn't fully pop onto Gokai Oh's head. After it springers out you need to manually attach it via the clip on top of the head and then fold the crests out on each side. The new face however looks great and is a double homage to Furaimaru and the Hurricanegers main robo, Senpuujin. This combined form with Furaimaru is called Hurricane Gokai Oh! The large shuriken stored on Furaimaru's back can also be held by Gokai Oh. However the rather larger (and aforementioned to be cumbersome) shurikens in either arm make it difficult. The large shuriken is not on a chain as it is in show. So, is this a perfect toy? No. But replicating a hyper physical robot ninja who flies on a giant shuriken, can duplicate himself, and throw tons of Kunai blades at a time doesn't seem entirely easy to do in toy form This toy compromises a bit of it's individual form toward the combined one and a bit of the combined form loses out for the individual. It's not perfect in either mode, but at it's price point it would be a fair addition to any Gokaiger collection!

Looks cool when not combined! I'll be buying it regardless as it's the final Gokai mech I need! Thanks for the gallery, it's why I've waited to purchase it!

Perfect example of how the Gokaiger stuff looks amazing in show but so very complicated to pull off in toy form. Furaimaru looks amazing, just like in show. But then you combine it and it's like what happened?! But who knows, maybe this is another one that BoA can do better.

...Wow. The combined form looks terrible. Outside of the head, it looks horrible...

Definetly looks better not combined, but I must say I like how the helmet looks when it is combined and is an homage to the head of the Senpuujin.

I always thought the concept of the Pirate Bot becoming a ninja was amusing.

Furaimaru is a really odd oddity. I like the fact it's green and not red like other Grand Powers.
I wonder if the PR version will be able to retain the helmet flip-up. |

This is just simply an exquisite gallery. Furaimaru isn't the best adaptation that Bandai has done, but it looks amazing when combined with Gokai-Oh. The American version of this toy will probably be missing some of the features, but it may also fix some of the problems. This gallery shows the best side of this toy.
