I could find threads for Ultraman discussion, and I know there was a thread on "What are you watching (other Tokusatsu)" that's a little buried now, but shockingly I couldn't find one for Ultraman specifically!
So, yeah, as the title says -- which Ultraman are you watching right now? It might seem like I'd be the last person to make this thread, but today I finally started my first Ultraman season -- Orb! I'm 5 episodes in and so far I'm enjoying it a fair bit. I'm particularly liking how the side characters are a lot more front-and-center than the title hero himself, and how the collateral damage of the giant-sized fights have clear consequence and weight to them. The main cast's small, effective and has a lot of personality diversity to it; while Juggler is a delightfully detestable villain. Oh, and I love the anniversary gimmick of the forms being fusions of completely different past Ultramen! It's a really cute twist and I hope they do some interesting things with it later. I probably won't be checking back on this thread much because spoilers for the entire rest of the franchise I haven't seen, but what giant kaiju-wrestling aliens are y'all are enjoying at the moment?

As far as I know, the Ultraman discussion thread basically unofficially doubles as the "what are you watching" thread for that franchise, specifically because of how threads like this end up getting a little buried. I think it's the same logic that lead to this site condensing the separate sections of the forum for Rider, Sentai, Power Rangers, and "other" shows into one big group however many years back. Better to have a single reasonably active general place to discuss things than several specific ones that end up chronically under-attended. And poor Ultraman doesn't even get the luxury of stickied threads for each new episode.
...Which is a shame, because Ultraman is awesome, so while we're here, I can at least mention the most recent Ultra stuff I've watched, thanks to Tsuburaya's YouTube channel. They fairly recently finished their weekly uploads of The☆Ultraman, the 1979 animated series that, of course, isn't tokusatsu, but captures the spirit of the franchise really well while seamlessly blending in elements from your typical space opera anime of the time. It's a really underrated show that I've had a ton of fun following over the past year-ish. During the middle of the that, they started uploading Ultraman Nexus too, the back half or so of which I made it a point to catch again every week. I probably don't need to explain why Nexus is good, but it's a show where you can really tell how proud the staff was of the work they were doing, and I've always had major respect for it because of that. It speaks to the passion behind the project that even after getting cancelled with about a quarter to go, the single episode they then had to tie everything up managed to do so in such a satisfactory manner. ...And that's probably why that finale was picked as what will be the very last installment of the "Stay At Home With Ultraman" project Tsuburaya is currently doing. If anyone needs some Ultraman to watch, 10 carefully curated episodes from across the franchise selected for their strong positive messages and general awesomeness ain't a bad way to go about it. Admittedly, I've yet to get around to watching any of it, but right now, four of the episodes are up, with English subtitles and everything! That's Ace's finale (of which all I can say is that it later inspired a great episode of Mebius) An episode of the original series featuring Pigmon (making it an instant winner) An episode of Ultraman Max directed by this guy (No idea how that happened, but stuff like this is why I feel bad I haven't watched Max) And an episode of Mebius that's... an episode of Mebius. That's literally all the information you need about this one.

Well, I’ve been waiting a whole day to post this (since I only watch my current Ultra series on Mondays and Fridays). But I’ve just watched episode 38 of Ultraman Leo “Showdown! Leo Brothers vs Ultra Brothers”. The plot is… exactly what it sounds like. Leo’s brother Astra gets seen stealing the Ultra Key (an important artefact never mentioned before or after this two parter), so Ultraman, Zoffy, Shinman (as he was called back then) and Ace (apparently, Taro was on his day off at the time. Because the key was stolen, the Ultra planet gets knocked off its axis and on a course to crash with Earth in 7 days. It’s not a bad episode, but it is a fairly-standard excuse plot.

Since Ultraman is now back as one if the leading Toku franchise I guess it warrants a WAYW thread. Hopefully we can keep it alive.
Also that Max episode........ Holy fucking shit that was a masterpiece. Child actors are often a miss but that kid..... I fucking cried for that kid. And that kaiju needs to make a comeback. Such a beautiful design and terrifying ability as well.
