While I wouldn't mind seeing Mutou again, I'd also love to see Riku Sanjo, Yasuko Kobayashi, or Kazuki Nakashima take a crack at writing for Rider again.
I know they've got their own projects rn, but didn't Urobuchi write Gaim and another show simultaneously? |

Of all previous writers, I do like the idea of Mutuo the most since he's only written the one Rider show and nothing else -- in addition, not only was it extremely good; it's also the closest Rider has been to its original themes in a long time. So I'd trust someone like that on the 50th!
... buuuut. We're now three series into this 'fresh new era' and all the head writers have previously been on late heisei era seasons. Can we get some new guys for Reiwa, already?

To clarify, Urobuchi only did three episodes of Aldnoah before committing himself to Gaim full time.

Personally I'd say, even rumours aside, process of elimination leaves Muto as the most likely imo, a lot of past writers are busy or haven't shown interest in returning in the past and Build was quite well received over all, it alsio matches their trend of using fairly recent writers for early Reiwa.
I would like to see some new writers, but honestly Mutou would be one of my top picks, I've also always wanted to see Junko Komura head write a series, I like a lot of her episodes in Wizard, and Wizard in Magic Land is still one of my favourite rider movies, but obviously she's busy with Zenkaiger so it won't be her this year. If I were to place bets on likelihood I'd say from most likely to least likely 1. Motou (Build) or a brand new writer [either seems equally likely to me] 2. Sanjo (W/Drive) [popular writer and its been a while] 3. Takahashi (Ex-Aid/Zero-One), [this one's a really odd guess but I feel like toei is really into this guy, he got 2 series just 3 years apart, I feel like he could be the new Inoue, getting brought back constantly] 4. Shōji Yonemura (Kabuto) [This is my dark horse bet, totally a gut feeling and not much else. He's written for Toei as recently as 2020 on Pretty Den-O, and I think he could bring in that original hesei tone while not going toooo dark, just to change things up a bit after saber went very whimsical and light hearted] While there are others I wouldn't be shocked to see return these are my bets lol Last edited by TheJaz; 05-29-2021 at 01:55 PM.. What would be the best dinosaurs to choose for the upcoming riders? Ceratosaurus could be used to make a general based off of WarGreymon!

I'd be thrilled to see Muto again. I feel more than any other recent writer, he understood Kamen Rider. He'd be a great fit for the 50th. I feel like he could make a show that felt like an anniversary season without relying on tons of cameos, instead being a celebration of the core themes of the franchise like Build was.

Even if right now it's probably the least reliable of all the rumours it's also the one I'm most hoping is true if I'm being honest. I think he'd be a great choice for a duo based series, if you ask me Sento and Banjo have some of the best chemistry of any set of riders in a good while. And alternatively, with Takumi Katsuragi's whole deal I also think he might be able to play around well with "one person becoming two separate entities" concept if that's how they handle the dual main riders thing. The whole inverted W concept tho does make me think they may have Sanjo (W/Drive) return to write, just to play up that he's inverting his old thing, but, I'd still put Mutou ahead in likelihood, but maybe I'm being biased. Either that or Muto gives us his rendition of Takumi VS Kusaka.

Super Sentai must be doing worse in sales than I thought if Toei's giving the series' most popular theme to their real cash cow.

I have a gut feeling Sanjo is going to be adapting Fuuto P.I. himself. 3. Takahashi is possible, especially since it's announced he's not coming back for the next season of Lupin III. 4. Yonemura is fully committed as the head writer of both One Piece and Pokemon Journeys. |
