Don't know about you guys, but this would have been the coolest beans:
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/04/...hat-never-was/ Some awesome shots: I just love how all of them are so easily identifiable. It's such a shame this project was abandoned.

Outside of a brilliant speech from Matt Smith I found the latest episode to be boring as hell. It was great that it wasn't set on Earth, but there's something about the over abundance of aliens that makes me feel like I'm watching Star Wars rather than Doctor Who (though I guess that has more to do with costume design than the plot itself). Seriously not feeling Clara at the moment either. People say Martha was bland but Clara is just so boring to watch.
Oh, and Murray Gold REALLY needs to tone it down. I know people have been complaining about it since day one, but the score was horrifically overpowering this episode.

I thought todays episode started really strong, nice bit of character building for Clara and explained the leaf in her book. Then it quickly dipped. There was a whole pyramid to explore and an epic break out from an alien... who did nothing...
Speech from Matt was awesome though, and the Leaf thing was kind of neat with the infinite possibilities of the universe angle... just a shame it was so anti-climatic... More importantly, the doctor just destroyed a sun that seemingly gave power and light to 7 planets (unless I'm just misunderstanding something there?) and returned clara home like nothing had happened. Still intrigued to see where the series goes, and I still adore Jenna =p |

I enjoyed this week's episode. I love Clara, I love his new Purple Coat, I love the references to the First Doctor. I don't get where people said it was boring. It was a very nice first outing for a new companion. The only thing I wish is that they would've done better than Planet'O'Lantern for the Baddie. I was hoping for Galactus and we got Mongo

Episodes okay, but I do understand the sentiments that it lacks a bit of pizazz. I did like the bits of Clara's backstory, as well as the Doctor's epic speech about what he's seen. Plus, the visuals are appropriately gorgeous here, it's always nice to see alien worlds.
There's just something about Who lately, that just doesn't seem so attractive anymore. Can't put my finger on it, but it's just another show I tune in to now, not one that I eagerly anticipate every week. I really think the Moffat/Smith era needs a refresh somehow, but I guess that won't happen anytime soon.

Well I'm not sure about you all...but one of my favorite aspects of this run is the throwback intro. The music, the background and the slight image of his face. THAT I have missed...but yeah, not the strongest of the "new generation" but...well...ok, Clara can be on screen and grinning and I'll be happy lol.

Last weeks episode was Okay, with a couple of good bits balanced out by some boring bits. But for now (sorry for the delay), the next review!
S1 Ep8: Father's Day- 14/06/05 Rose goes back into time to see her dead father and 'on impulse' saves his life. Which rips open time. Yay! Plot Rose asks the Doctor to take her back in time to see her late father, Pete, whoher mother remnisced about a lot when she was a child. The first time she stands and watches as he gets run over but they go back again, and she saves him. The other Doctor and Rose dissapear. They get to a church where people are getting married, where the car that almost ran Pete down comes close to hitting him again, and then when it misses goes around the building on a repeat. Meanwhile, mysterious creatures (Reapers) come down from the sky and start 'eating' people. After a while, the Doctor goes to the Tardis, finding the inside vanished and just an empty shell. He runs to the church just as the reapers attack. The rest of the episode is spent mainly on exposition until the Doctor is attacked by a reaper after Rose touches a Baby! Rose. Pete then lets himself get run over to save every else on Earth. This makes the Reapers dissapear. The Doctor reapears and him and Rose go off in another adventure in the TARDIS- World War 2! (Which will not be covered in this review). The plot has lots of tension, and while some scenes in the episode feel slow, the overall speed goes quickly. 7/10 Characters This episode is practically all about character. We learn about Rose's backstory, her family, her relationship with the Doctor. It all gets some mention. Emotionally, this episode has strong heartstring pulls, although some of the moments with Jackie and Pete fighting get annoying quick. 9/10 Scare Factor Nothing that scary or disturbing is shown, although someone who who knows a car accident victim may feel disturbed. 5/10 Bad Wolf Watch- Graffiti on a wall Overall This episode isn't necessary to watch if you're only focusing on story, but it is a must watch if you want to focus on Rose. Tune in next time for Aliens in Cardiff!
