I haven't gotten a PR morpher since I was little. But I'm eying the Gosei Morpher.
It looks like a good toy, and I actually like it more then the Tensouder. Is it worth the price of admission? |

Tensouder all the way. The Morpher may have more sounds but they're all much more generic as well. For the same price or less as the Morpher you can get a Tensouder. And the Tensouder is just a lot nicer in my opinion. I'm kind of biased towards BOA stuff though.

I don't own it, but from what I've seen it's a very well made role play toy. That is high prase Bandai of America hasn't had in about a decade. If you intend to buy the cards or items that come with the cards, I say go for it if you're interested.

I see the Gosei Morpher as a sort of love letter from BoA to the fans, and I don't even like the Gosei Morpher or Tensouder very much to begin with. Anniversary sounds, build quality and a lack of the same suckiness that has plagued BoA morphers for years just makes this toy a winner. Of course, the sounds between the two versions are really different, so if you really like one voice over the other or however it goes, then it's really your point of contention. If you're interested in it though, I'd say it's a more solid buy than most things on the US market for that price.

When looking at markets for certain items and whether or not one is clearly "better" than the other, the ability to quickly find something for a reasonable price makes a significant impact. There are various Japanese toy/hobby websites, but they don't always have Tensouders on them, let alone for prices near 3000 yen on a reliable basis. Comparing two items when the distribution of one is clearly severely lopsided seems to not be a real comparison. If you're waiting for an item to be available at a certain price, it's not saturating the market, unless a collector's item such as the Tensouder's market is so drastically low. I'd say there are a lot more factors going into these decisions.

Representing different shows and ease of purchasing would factor into my decision. I could find it on certain websites for certain prices if I put a lot of effort and time into waiting for it, but factors such as wanting it now vs. hoping for finding something that is no longer in production changes whether it's a viable alternative. Plus, like I said, they are for different shows, so as a Power Ranger fan, the Tensouder would lose massive amounts of value. If I were strictly a Goseiger fan, a $10 Gosei Morpher would be next to worthless next to a $100 Tensouder, using the $100 as an example.

Decently well-made and a lot of features, beats the cheap, hollow plastic morphers we've been getting for a few years now. Thus, if you want a Power Rangers morpher, a Tensouder, no matter how good or well-made, simply won't cut it because it makes Goseiger sounds, not Power Rangers.

Suppose it wouldn't be a bad morpher to pick up if I ever see it on sale then. Truthfully, I'm considering it if only to have a Gosei on display.

Against, you mean. I'm beginning to see a lot of bias from you against BoA toys, Den-O.
raz here has the best answer, in my opinion. Objectively, the Tensouder might be a better made toy, but it's useless for me because Power Rangers is a stronger brand pull for me than Goseiger was. The very fact that it's Power Rangers and celebrating the Power Rangers anniversary sealed my decision to look for a Gosei Morpher instead (still looking). It also helps that it's the best morpher we've gotten in years for Power Rangers. I bought the Tensouder for entirely different reasons than someone who wants a Gosei Morpher would. So it's hard for me to be objective here. Power Rangers isn't something I'm into much anymore because I prefer the original Sentai over the adaptation almost every time. So buying a cheaper and less functional toy (depending on how you look at it and what you're looking for) doesn't make a lot of sense for someone like me.
