Hi Everyone, im Kaiser Blue. Long time lurker ( 10 years lol) and first time poster. Im a longtime toku fan and this is my first time ever on a toku forum. You guys seemed like a great bunch to chat with and much better than some other forums ive come across. Im really happy to be here and look forward to chatting with all of you! Im also an amateur photographer and started a blog to review my toku collection, my first post on there is the sh figuarts best selection build and i would really appreciate some constructive criticism on the review Any pointers or comments would be much appreciated. My blog is my homepage and can be found by clicking my name lol. You can post your comments on this forum if youd like. Id just really like if someone took a look at it.
Welcome onboard! Everyone is welcome, thanks for joining. As for condtructive criticism, have you considered a lightbox for your photos? Your poses are fantastic but the lighting and shadows contrast a bit and reduces the 'wow factor' a smidge. Also, try playing with camera angles to improve the 'presence' of your figures. Here are some examples I found off Pinterest: Note that in these pictures the camera is pointing directly at them whereas your photos are currently pointing at your figures from an above angle. Not a bad thing in itself, but just something to keep in mind. Don't worry about the editing stuff that's happened with some of these, you can learn that later if you wish. Just remember that great photos have great lighting and camera angle in order to let the figures feel 'lifelike' in a sense. Keep up the great work! -Tokunation's resident gashatfreak.

Lol thank you all for the kind welcome. And criticism. Would a light box be easy to fabricate out of cardboard or something id have to purchase? And was the review itself any good or could ut use some tweaks here and there, like the format or pacing.

There's also natural lighting, but that's more useful when outdoors rather than indoor photography. As for the review itself, it's very good and gives off a bit of a professional feel. You tell your likes and dislikes about the figure and even some trivia, something which some readers would be interested in. There are a few grammatical errors here and there though so you might want to double check the reviews before publishing them. But yeah, keep improving your photos! The better the photos, the more readers will be attracted. And don't worry, your writing style will form it's own identity as you keep writing reviews.

Thank you so much yeah i know ive got a bit of grammatical errors going lol. Im a lit major in college and normally a grammer nazi, so it feels funny to be caught with my pants down rn. Most of it is on wordpress lol, i launched this site at 4am this morning after working through yesterday and last night. Wordpress is not so kind if you want the free option and keeps trying to force you to pay. I made the site by 12am and then they wouldnt let me launch it without paying, so i tried launching another site on the same platform for free and it worked the 2nd time. Then i spent 4 hours transferring assets and forgot to proofread lol. Hopefully i wont get Rider kicked by wordpress like this again, so definitely expect better grammer on later reviews. Ill go edit this one for now. Thanks ever so much youve been a great help GashatFreak. Good Wishes from NYC. * I'll definitely get on ordering a lightbox by tonight. Thanks for the pointers. Ive seen them but never knew the name lol.

Yup, 10 Years. I've been so busy with work and school, never had time for hobbies aside from browsing the forums, and i was a bit aprehensive in joining a forum, didnt know what to expect. But you guys are such a great bunch of chaps, i could no longer sit back and watch these riveting chats, i had to join. And you guys inspired me to start my own blog to review my collection. Ive linked it to my profile as my homepage, and can be accessed via clicking my name. I would really appreciate your opinion on the first post for build, seeing as your the resident rider reviewer. Your series overviews are excellently detailed, and very engaging.

Also, for anyone interested, hobby search is having a bargain sale and has the ver 20th diendriver for 3500 yen, SOC leopardon with the spider caller for about 50% off, and i believe some shodo sets with a pretty good discount. Id hop on the diendriver, but haven't dealt with hobbysearch before, nor have i any idea of how much shipping might be to get it stateside.

I would say that I can't recommend the Diendriver -- it's infamous for being very disappointing; having absolutely no reader and hence no individual rider sounds, even with the 20th version including so many cards. You just get henshin, generic summon, and final attack. CSM and Neo, of course, both have readers and much more sounds.
