The fight scenes are great from start to finish, some of the best in all of Rider - only beaten by Decade in my books - and are simultaneously the main reason to watch the series and the only thing other than Haruto that stops Wizard from being all round garbage. Sadly Wizard's powers just aren't ever particularly interesting or ever really all that well explained either. I guess that is what happens when you start the plot as late as this show does. Haruto is a great character though. Quote:
It certainly depends now if you care for Hikawa as a character since that is the whole point him. The G3 unit designed the Suit to fight Grongi and not the Unknown and still Hikawa fights and never ever backs down. If you cant get behind this Underdog aspect of the character I dont think you will enjoy G3 until G3-X shows up.

I love Hikawa and as you said, if you can get behind that aspect (which I am) then it makes him even cooler. I just wish he would kick more ass in the fights. He's killed only one Unknown in all of the fights he's had. In fact that's the only time I recall him hitting one of them and it having an effect. Obviously being 7 episodes in means that their is room for improvement, especially when G3-X comes along (when is that? I want my robocop.metal hero rider dammit!) since he gets a big ass weapons upgrade.
I think its somewhere in the late 20s. |

Agito Episode 8
I can't believe I never questioned this before now. What exactly are those drawings suppose to be in the OP video? Like why exactly are they there? I love Taichi so much. I just love how he's acting like an adult and parent there. Especially with the "He's at the age" line. Just priceless in my opinion. Man Shouchi really did get the crap beaten out of him. He's limping, he's clutching at his arm. Just how much damage did that Unknown dish out? Oh yeah it threw him around like a rag doll...well uh, try harder next time Shouchi! More then they already are? I know I've said it a lot before, and I'll continue to say it probably throughout my watching of Agito (however long that may be). I really, really love how we have a police force that has gotten caught up in a series of mysterious murders and approaches them like a regular old case. It's just so great to see the police acting logically and respond to the situation like it was nothing. They don't say that the supernatural element is hogwash and drop it, and they don't get overly into it where they start doing your typical cliched stuff. They're fighting an enemy that they know nothing about and are approaching the situation as if it was a normal case. I just plain love that aspect. Heck I even love the rivalry between Houjou and Hikawa as it seems very natural. Just love everything about this aspect of the show. Shouchi you fucking dumb ass Schooled by a teenager Hikawa Am I watching a Three Stooges episode? Except without the third Stooge? Mana you are one strange girl. I really want to know what these powers of hers are about and where they came from. And why she has them. Because all of these flashback scenes are getting weird. Especially since she's seeing more than what was shown originally of what Shouchi saw. If she got the images from him, then how is it that she can see more? Did that thing just grin? How exactly did Shouchi learn how to make a bed anyways? Did he find a book about it? Did he study the remains of Mana's old bed and is just winging it from that? Or does he just magically know how to do stuff ala Tendou? These two...they work very well together in comedic scenes. He's like a puppy dog Mana...a fairly odd puppy dog. That was actually a pretty cool effect they did there when Agito ran into the Unknown. I mean it's really noticeable, no doubt about it. But it wasn't the worst effect I've ever seen. It's just dated. Nonetheless though it was cool that they did it. This does not sit well with our lady friend I take it? Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. So he presses the (from his perspective) left button to activate Storm Form, and the right button to activate Flame Form. Well I suppose that does explain the buttons on the side of the belt. Speaking of forms, Flame Form looks, okay I suppose. I like the red they used as it really pops against the black suit. And the gold used around it pops a little bit as well. I also enjoy how the shoulder pad has that edge pointing up. But that's sorta where my praise ends. I didn't mention it with Storm Form but I really don't like how with these two forms, only one side gets the upgrade. Why can't they both change to fully be a new form? They could still combine like they do for Trinity form if each form wasn't split. And how comes the gold on his legs don't change to match the new form? Also I really don't like the sword. It just doesn't look that great to me. Out of the three we have for the moment, Storm Form is my favorite as it had a really nice color to it and a kick ass weapon as well. I like Flame's shoulder pad more and I do think the red and gold really work well together. But as a complete package of color, armament, and weapon, it doesn't really work for me. Oh come on! I wanted to see an up close shot of the Unknown becoming two separate pieces. Not one form fall away! I know it's meant for kids but come on! I wanted a good shot of the thing getting sliced into two halves! Yes show, please explain exactly what the hell this kid is. Because until I get an explanation I am going to still be convinced that he is in fact the Antichrist. Pretty sure it's a guy now BTW. Well that was eight. How did it fair? Spoiler alert: better then seven. The story aspect was here and in my opinion shined through a bit more. The story to me at least being about Shouchi and Mana and how Mana had to come to forgive Shouchi for something he may or may not have done, and Shouchi learning how to defeat the Unknown. Both tied into each other a little bit, but the Shouchi/Mana one was the obvious plot point of the episode. Nothing in my opinion however got added to the main story except for the introduction of a new form. Other then that, nothing really came up that to me at least effect how things will play out over the run of the series. Character development was there, but only in the sense of how people interacted. This to me meaning that only Mana got development, as she had to develop into believing that Shouchi wouldn't kill somebody and thus forgive him. So basically, the same as the story. Nothing else into terms of character development though. Agito though did deliver some nice action though. So that's a major plus in my book since the action is usually BORING AS FUCK. It had a nice back and forth style which showed off the advantages of both fighters. Shouchi has the power advantage, and the Unknown had the advantage of being able to fly. It also did well to introduce the new form in the typical style of having Shouchi pwn the enemy upon entering that form. But since the opponent was flying around, I guess it's natural that I wouldn't get to see some back and forth fighting with the sword. Regardless though, I actually thought the action was good and found myself liking it. It's a miracle! So once again we have a pretty decent episode. It was entertaining and did fairly well in the main aspects, with the story/character development being the best in my opinion. Decent episode but I'm seeing that this series is like 555 in more ways then the subject material: I'm in another mixed bag series where episodes flip flop between good to great, terrible, boring, and average.

Decade 13.
Yusuke is so frustrating, because he's probably one of the best characters in all of Kamen Rider. As a person at least. He's this really lovely, mature, smart dude who has the perfect attitude for a hero. He is just insanely likeable. Yet when it comes to him as a Rider he sucks...he really really fucking sucks. Like actually worse than Godai sucks. He has one of the most powerful, and versatile power sets in all of Kamen Rider and this episode is the first time he's fought in about ten episodes. That is a third of the series. And although yes, he does fight again, does he use his actual powers? NOPE. Does he achieve anything? NOPE. Like I really want to enjoy him, especially with the way he makes Tsukasa grow as a person but it's hard to enjoy a Rider who literally does nothing relating to the fighting. Sure he may help every episode in some way or another, but all of his actions pale beneath the fact that he has fucking super powers, a friend constantly battling monsters...and he only ever gives him motivational speeches. If I was Tsukasa I'd be like 'Fuck dude! Transform and fucking help me!' Coming a close second for worst Rider in this show is Shouichi. Basically the one twist for Agito's world is there are three Riders in it...and they're all the same person. Not only that, but G3-X is the only one that has any real context, both the Gills and Agito powers that Shouichi gains are never explained and come out of nowhere. Not to mention the fact that the most interesting powers out of the three both become former powers for the least interesting. Well that sucked, I hope Den-O is better.

It makes more sense once you know the full backstory of Agito and the kid in black. Quote:

And whether or not you like Den-O world is based largely on your tolerance for Imagin shenanigans. |

Well, that'll depend on how you felt about Den-O the show. Have you even watched Den-O?. Because Den-O world is the only one that isn't an AU (well there is another world that could potentially be the original later on, but I won't spoil it). It's the actual characters from the show returning for another round. Because Den-O is apparently the most crazy popular Rider series of all time.

Yeah just watched my first episode of Wizard and I'm not liking it as much as I did the other three Rider series I've watched so far, and I'm just talking about the beginning episodes.
Maybe it's just me but the introduction to Wizard felt like they were trying to impress us too much, with him summoning a bike right away and just mopping the floor with the first wave of baddies like they were nothing, just sets it up for a character that doesn't seem to have much conflict and it loses my interest early on, though maybe it gets better later on. Since Gaim isn't finished quite yet and I can't have a fully thought out choice, I think OOO is my favorite out of the ones I've seen if only because I love the suit designs and how each combo form has it's own presence and personality, with unique names and much to my surprise and joy their own theme music, I love that in a series. And since Wizard is kinda up in the air as far as watching it all the way through, anyone have a recommended series for me?

It's that time again...want to watch another KR, but not sure where to go next, lol...thus far I've finished: W, Agito, Kabuto, and my latest OOO. I am currently watching Gaim as well as the eps go by week by week. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
