i just want big rubber suit Ben.
that is the best Ben Grimm. I don't care how many people tell me CGI is better, I want big rock suit practical effect Ben, saying it's clobberin' time (NOT BECAUSE OF HIS BROTHER BEATING HIM UP! that's stupid!) and blessin' his sweet Aunt Petunia. also, Michael Douglas worked because it established Ant-Man and gave us a reason to just jump to Scott Lang, who in my opinion, is the Best Ant-Man incarnation. you're never gonna get a Fantastic 4 movie without Ben and Reed. (especially not Ben since the Thing is probably the most popular of the Fantastic 4.) but what I would like is do what the comics did, and use the characters like they've already been established, and then go back and do the backstory. there's too much backstory for the 4 and Doom to just make a movie that introduces all of them faithfully.

Didn't Fox reboot the F4 to avoid losing the rights to the series? They should have let the rights go back to Marvel.

especially after the mess that is the reboot movie.
I've heard the RT score is LOWER than Pixels.

Having trouble introducing a Doom who isn't In his late-50s? Just say that he was lost in the Negative Zone 20 years prior. Or have him already established as Latveria's dictator in the modern day. It's a comic book adaptation. There are ways to make it work. |

again, I'd rather they just stick to the original 4.
I like the fantastic 4 because of the original 4, not because of the extra members. I wanna see Ben Grimm kicking ass, yelling it's clobberin' time, and loving his sweet aunt Petunia. also, are there any standalone comics for The Thing? I've pretty much only liked the Fantastic 4 because of him. I'm a little ashamed to admit.

I'm not saying that they should make a Fantastic Four movie without Ben and Reed. I just think that the Fantastic Four should be retired as superheroes in the modern day. You can totally have a Fantastic Four movie with the original four as younger adults in that scenario. The catch is that that movie would have to be a period piece in order to work. And, really, I think that would be the best way to introduce them into the MCU. That way, the door is open to introduce the Future Foundation in the modern day and have Bill Nye and Neil DeGrasse Tyson as Reed and Ben but still have enough plausibility to have younger, more experienced actors playing the Fantastic Four.
The team has always been public, it's one of their main traits, for your take to work it'd have to be changed, like Pym's stint as Ant-Man, not a bad thing per se, but definitely a new take. |

I'd just rather they be already established, but not old.
honestly, they could play it off like Tony says "I know who to call" cut to the Baxter building and Reed says "been wondering if you'd give us a call" and then Tony chimes "yeah, I don't know what happened."

Any time a film or any other piece of merchandise/media is created with this kind of handicap it's bound to be of poor quality. Making something simply because you have to does not result in a quality project. It results in the mess Fox has given us.

With the right people and the right ideas it could still have been great. I had hope in this movie right until its release date. It's too bad it crumbled so badly.
