To be perfectly blunt a friend and I basically call this game Movie War Core II since it basically is.
Hell, "Core Energy" is a big part of the plot even.

Imma need to try Sagozo and Cyclone Metal more for those blocks! Thanks for the tip!
And yeah, you could probably have a drinking game with how often they say "core energy" in the story. It DOES feel like a decent W/OOO crossover movie to me too! I didn't really have a lot of expectations for the game other than what I saw in trailers. I was just happy that it would have some story, feature my faves, and not just be some kinda vs fighter. I feel like a lil kid again playing it, and that's perfect! |

I'm just legitimately happy at how many minor monsters from W and OOO managed to make it in the game.
Normally they only ever really do the Boss Kaijin/General's, so to see some picks like Magma and so forth is just real nice. |

Two whole playthroughs and I still didn't have enough codes to buy every upgrade for every form. Third playthrough it is!
Before that though, lemme just say, if any of you thought the final boss was tough in Standard Mode, oh man, Extreme Mode will leave you really frustrated. One hit and you're basically dead. As such I feel it's only right for me to give you all some tips on how best to handle this behemoth, no matter what difficulty you're playing on. And before anyone asks, sadly, no, the CycloneMetal trick doesn't work on him. Well, mostly. I'll explain in a bit. Phase 1 Use Zero-One. And more specifically, focus on using MetalCluster Hopper the most, as it does the most armor damage. What this phase really comes down to is good timing with your dodges. Whenever he backs off from you or do can't get a clear opening to run in on him, send out for grasshopper drones to deal some tick damage. When it comes to his ice meteor attack, switch to Flying Falcon and fly to the top of the screen and then drop down; It's the simplest way to avoid them all. When the armor is broken, I've weirdly enough found that Rising Hopper has the highest DPS, so go in with him. Phase 2 Use W. The main form to focus on here is CycloneTrigger, because for those of you who've played games like this before, this dude is basically a PS2 action game final boss. Try to stay at a range and pepper him with shots when you can. His dome attacks actually only hit the ground, so be sure to Air Step over them when he uses them. When it comes to his beam, remember that if you don't perfect dodge it for a counterattack, he'll sweep it across the screen, and no, you can't jump over it. When he summons four meteors, you can actually reflect them with CycloneMetal, and if you do, the 4th hit will actually stun him so you can either recover RP or get some extra hits in. Phase 3 Use OOO. This is by far the easiest phase, especially since Sagozo, the best form, gets to really shine here. The boss has two really easy to counterattack moves, and when it comes to the claw swipes that can't be counterattacked, Sagozo can just blocked them and then immediately go in for some armor busting. Once his armor is broken, switch to either Tajador or Mukachiri for that sweet burn and poison damage. Just be sure to be mindful of where you step, and you'll have the final battle won in no time. Hope this helps!

Picked up the game to play a bit more of it as I'm slowly burning through the trophies to level up and get everyone's abilities. I really dislike how certain sections force you as a character. More specifically in New Game+
Like, they acknowledge that it is New Game+ and you get certain things there like a battle timer, but also like... they still force you to play as characters and force you into the Form Tutorial Segments. I kinda wish they'd have a way to skip past those cause I really hate how I'm forced to be a character when I want to level others up. Like super early on for OOO after you get Gatakiriba there's a jumping segment where you have to use that forms special jumping ability. But also Zero-One ends up having the same ability via Rising Hopper, so I don't get why they couldn't just let you use whoever you want in New Game+ since you have multiple Riders who can get past certain "platforming" challenges. |

Aww, damn; I was hoping they'd let you free play as any of the Riders in NG+. Oh well

Like you have access to all the characters and can play as them whenever they give you the option to, such as me using Zero-One to fight the first boss in the game.
But when it's certain specific sections, like trying out a new form, or just character specific one's like Eiji being like "Just leave this to me" in a cutscene, you're locked to him in particular for the entire segment. |

Sorry to bump the thread, but I'm considering getting the game.
I know the Japanese version has some English text, but is it just subtitles, or are menus also in English? Will I have any issues at all with getting through it? |
