Kabutack's design choices always confused me so much. It felt like they were trying to target two very different tastes by having both incredibly cute and run of the mill toku designs.
I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Though I will say the variety for the toys is impressive, being able to use various components in both modes must have taken some damn good engineering from the designers. |

Would love to have seen an adaptation of this show! I'm glad this got posted because I knew I had seen the main robot before and it's been bothering me that I couldn't place it

Yeah these designs have always been a standout for how weird they are, but looking at these pictures I can see the merits of the engineering.

Even though the Kabutack robots look like they were made for 4 year olds the superh angle gimmick actually look pretty cool and the 2nd forms now look like something metal heroes related.

the yellow one reminds me of a thunderbirds model. this could possibly be made in model kits.
