Is Eiji's actor on a tight schedule or something? I was bummed that he didn't appear in 10.5.
Pacing issues aside, this is a good episode and more of OOO tribute than Dan Kuroto's. But really, Kouta's cameo at the end felt weird thanks to no narration.

Seems like we'll be getting some Geiz backstory soon hopefully.

Hey everyone, guess what time it is!
Time for me to praise the heck out of whatever genius thought to replace the pictures on OOO's chest with more katakana. None of the other Ride Armors so far have designs anywhere near this clever. I love it. I loved the episode a bit less, but they did a pretty great job with certain elements. Eiji is definitely the best guest star we've gotten yet. He gets a good amount of screen time, acts very much like himself, and even directly teaches Sougo a lesson he learned in his own series... which, of course, in this version of history didn't happen, but that's fine. Maybe becoming a politician led to similar character development, right? At the end of the day I don't think there's much point in critiquing the time travel logic in this show unless they seriously mess something up. On the flipside, however, KurotOOO's was just lame here. It feels like they already had their fun with him last episode and he's only still around because the plot needs to be wrapped up. I mean, Woz straight up tells him at the end he was only useful as a dude for Zi-O to beat up. I appreciate that they probably wanted to make sure he didn't detract from Eiji's role, since he was the one who didn't get anything to do last time, but something about the way the plot petered out here felt a bit off. As for Sougo's Kabuto-esque "betrayal", I think they did a solid enough job justifying it. Sure, anyone with a brain probably wouldn't need to go to such lengths to find out "egomaniacal madman = bad king", but like I talked about in the thread for the last episode, Sougo being a bit "off" when it comes to things like that is reasonably in character for him. More important to me is that rather than just brushing off this incident as another wacky adventure, we actually see this has a lasting effect on Geiz, and even if he'll be back with everybody soon, him walking off is an interesting development. All in all this episode was something of a mixed bag, but I definitely had fun with it. Better do more with those two alumni considering helheim is back, which is weird since it's kind of the villain of the series. They don't bother hiding toys nowadays with kuroto and tajadol. The fights are getting boring with how formulated it is and how competent zio is. It's like hina super strength without explanation. At Least kouta was playing and improving as a kid. Zio suddenly can fught impressively and kick a post apocalyptic survivor ass more than twice easily without the aid of woz. Woz is just the narrator on the peak of breaking the fourth wall like dead pool anytime now. I liked there's a story to zio, actual toku alumi taking time off from their own busy schedule to do guest star cameo, but the whole time traveling and changing their personalities ruins it for me. There got to be some secret in why zio is special because he's pretty much nobita from doraemon before he became zio. Also, why are another riders all so weak even with Dan? No challenge or tension at all for selling toys. Last edited by VoidinToku; 11-17-2018 at 08:49 PM.. |
