I don't know if there already is a thread for this, but I just thought that if DC Comics had a thread, why not Marvel? If there already is a Marvel Comics thread, than a Moderator can delete this.
Feel free to discuss all things Marvel Comics. |

As if killing him once wasn't bad enough, Marvel had to go and kill the ghost of Peter Parker, too. Killing him once was bad enough, but TWICE!? WHAT DID HE EVER DO TO YOU, MARVEL!? EARN YOU TOO MUCH MONEY!?
On that note, yay Spider-Man 2099! |

>Complaining about a comic book death
>2013 I'll give him a year before Peter Parker comes back. Not necessarily as Spider-Man, but he'll be back.

To be fair, he was my childhood hero. I have a right to complain.

He was mine, too.
But one part of why people complain about comics stagnating is because change never sticks around. We've had entire plot lines that last for seemingly ages just to get classic characters back into their original roles. I'm surprised Marvel has stuck to their guns and not reversed Pete's deal with the devil or made Brock back into Venom again. And, on a minor tangent, Marvel, fuck you for killing off Patrick Mulligan off panel with no explanation or reasoning beyond keeping Eddie Brock relevant. :\

And if you're suggesting that Spider-Man: One More Day is a change that took the next step in Peter's character, I have to disagree. If they wanted to do that, Peter would have divorced M.J. He'd be free to date again, but he'd also have to deal with being a divorcee. Instead, they went with the route of erasing his marriage from history because he made a deal with Mephisto to save his aunt, which, while noble, is also selfish. Yes, he saved a life, but would Aunt May want to be saved if she knew what had to be done? No, she'd rather die. Peter saved her because he couldn't deal with the possibility that she would be gone. It's a tough decision, and both options have their own filthiness. I think Linkara put it best (which is why I just ripped him off) as to why One More Day is actually a devolution of Peter as a character. |

So I realized that the Clone Saga, which my friend recommended to me, is nearly universally hated by everyone, including Linkara. He's my go to guide to comic quality.
So I think my friend has a shitty taste in Marvel books now. I already suspected him when he said he liked One more Day but this crosses it. Granted, I don't hate Clone Saga yet but that's for another post. |
