Remember, this is a hypothetical question.
Hypothetical, Toei announced they are doing a period piece on Super Sentai or Kamen Rider. If they did that, which decade would you like for period piece Super Sentai or Kamen Rider? * 1900s * 1910s * 1920s * 1930s * 1940s * 1950s * 1960s * 1970s * 1980s * 1990s Would you like to see Kamen Rider in 1930s or Super Sentai in 1960s? It’s your choice. |

They're more likely to do an edo-period thing, like they did with the OOO movie or that one W special

An entire series using that one Edo Set is likely someone at Toei's dream.

They would save up a lot of money cause majority of scenes would potentially be at Eigamura opening up more options in terms of spending for production. It would be like telling a sports team they will play all games on the home stadium for the whole season.

And I would totally be down for something like that. I've always wanted to see a Sentai or Kamen Rider series that gets far away from modern day Japan. This is why I enjoy something like Build so much. there have already been period piece shows in the past - Lion Maru comes to mind. And those were fairly well made shows as well. |

Any period would be fun, but I think the 2000's would be the prime setting. It's their "Golden era" so to speak, with numerous available actors to return to reprise roles.

what about the 1930.
Japan is rising to be an empire, it's eyes are burning bright to expand into the whole world, and the enemies will try to block its effort into world domination. Enter Masker Rider Seigi, Japan's secret weapon made using unearthed alien artefacts; his past is tragic, his current condition as an empire's weapon used to subjugate the world, and his inner conflicts about it. And oh he's the emperor's most illegitimate secret son. |

I think they’ve use that Edo period set enough that all the episodes combined make a full season.

I don't think a 30's setting would do well in Japan, since it would have obvious pre-war implications.
Granted, I honestly don't know much about 1930's Japan (Despite my grandmother being born during then...)
