Ah. I guess Ill join in too with a introduction.
I got invited here by Reggie. I didn't really get into toku until last year, my brother was really into Power Rangers when we were young but I got into Kamen Rider with W and Ex-aid. I'm also a amateur voice actor - not professional but I'm getting my feet wet with it. Nice to meet y'all. I BURRRRN

Flex of TheBacklog here, long time lurker on the site but I've joined today in order to chat with the community and post stuff for my channel. Looking forwards to discussing Sentai/Ranger/Rider related stuff while on this site.

Hello there! I joined this site yesterday and I guess it's time to introduce myself here. I lurked around here plenty of times before and decided to join now. I've gotten into toku 2 years ago and visited other toku forums, but I'd like to be a part iof the discussions here. I'm mostly familiar with Kamen rider and Super sentai series, but I'm in the process of checking out other toku series as well. Also, nice to meet y'all!

Hi
I just joined the site although I've been lurking on page for years now and finally bit the bullet to make an account. I've been a toku fan for years now. Started with Power rangers, then moved onto sentai and now I'm just a rider guy |

I'm really just here to get past the ten-post limit so I can post my extended Geed review on the Ultraman thread, but yeah, I grew up in the 90s on a steady diet of Toku. Outgrew them when I discovered girls and the outdoors.
Fell in love with Toku again a few years ago through Kamen Rider. It was a combination of the rewatching the Early Heisei Riders as a grownup (where I was surprised by how adult the storytelling was, despite being ostensibly a kids show), and the awesome SPIRITS manga, which reignited my love for the Showa Riders. I also recently got back into Ultraman through Geed. I watched Mebius a few years ago and loved it, too. I grew up on all the Showa Ultras and still love those shows too. Every time I hear the iconic Zetton WoooOOOooo sound I get a raging hard-on of nostalgia. Anyway. Nice to meet you all! |

Super late cause I didn't realize this thread was a thing lol, but yeah I'm trash at finishing shows, I've watched like one episode of almost all the Heisei riders but the only ones I've finished are Gaim, Build, and Fourze. Not much of a sentai guy, but lupat is definitely on my watchlist because that opening is great and I'm looking to increase the number of toku under my belt with ryukendo, legend heroes, and whatever else you cool cats can recommend.
So yeah hi again, and if you've got any extremely wholesome MHA memes they would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Duncuka
If I can't recommend anything enough it's Ultraman. It's a bit different from Kamen Rider or Sentai, it's more of a mix of Godzilla and the Twilight Zone to put it bluntly, giant monsters and aliens and their weird effects on humanity and the mysteries around them, but I'm constantly amazed by how good it is. They’re short shows too, around 25 episodes per series. So they can be easily finished if you like watching them. There are lots and lots of them but I think the best way to start is picking any of the modern shows (from Ginga on forward), they are all excellent IMO. Just be aware that continuity is a bit more of a factor than in other Toku shows as characters from past Ultraman shows are either referenced or play a big part themselves. Whatever you decide to watch, I hope you keep us posted and that you'll enjoy your stay. |
