Alright, Shocker. Look what you made me do.
Go-Buster Ace, and Go-Buster Rai-Lion-Cycle are the absolute joys of this line. But this isn't a post about them. This is a post about that Gorilla, Rabbit, Stag, and Beet. And the monstrosities of plastic they make when they combine. Gorilla's Truck and Animal modes aren't horrible. Rabbits Animal and Chopper modes are though. But then you combine them with ace and they make a horror of plastic WTF. Ace's inner legs make it look like at any moment the Gorilla arts will slip off and go flying, I don't like how you can see Screw Holes on the arms because you invert Rabbit to make his arms. I hate that weird fork thing on his one hand. And his mask is... dumb. Stag and Beet. Beet and Stag. Stag's Crane mode is excellent, and I love the clever design of making it into a Stag Beetle. Same with Beet. Decent airplane mode, excellent Beetle. But then you transform Stag into his Robot Mode. The arms just to low, to lankey. They almost reach to his ankles, and forget posing him in any possible way. Then you have him combine with Beet and the problem multiplies. The weapon is so heavy it can only point down, or else he falls over. The armor he creats is pathetic. And I think it would've been better if neither had a solitary robot mode. And instead combined in a Safeguard down the middle kind of way. Then you come to the real monster. Great Go-Bust. Now I understand they say in the show that they were never meant to combine. But I think they won't that after seeing the toy prototypes and thought "What evil have we unleashed on mankind?!" and then all melted like the Nazi's at the end of Raiders. The Spear is impossible for him to hold without toppling, the Beet gun is thrown on, I hate how the helmet of the damn thing is always visable on Beet's vehicle mode with no attempt to even hide it, and how the helmet of Go-Bust-Oh is part of the spear. Just because "OMG Extra Peices?! NOOOOOOOO!". RaiOh looks amazing. Vehicle, I love how Ace can ride him. Animal, I love every big of it. And Robot, very Pat Lee. Very awesome. Frogger-Sub.. I saw a reveiw of him and I take back wanting him. Just because of that large, bulky torpedo backpack he has. It looks ungainly and out of place. So save your money, buy Ace and Rai, and be done with it. |

I'm confused...are you complaining about the toys or the mecha in the show?

I like RH-03. The only one of it's modes I don't like is the headless helicopter mode, and that's just because the cockpit(s) is/are so lousy.
I like Go-BusterOh. RT-03's boosters on the sword is brilliant, I dig the propeller shield, and I like how the head has the colors of the three main senshi on it. Go-Buster Beet is boss. Yeah his shoulders are low, but who cares when he has fully possble arms(talking about Minipla)? Not to mention swordguns. Buster Hercules is a good combination. It's a good contrast to Go-BusterOh in the since that Go-BusterOh focuses more on being an all around armorment for Ace with weapons as an after thought, while Hercules is all about the weaponry. Great Go-Buster is fantastic. Love the spear, love all the business going on behind the head, love the head, all around win. You should have a pretty good idea about how I feel about RaiOh by now. I'm still not sure how I feel about FS-0O. It's definitely an interesting remold, turning a rabbit into a frog is so simple it's genius. Maybe I'll like him more once I get the Minipla. Also, it seems that, A) your opinion if mainly based on reviews, B) you're focusing too much on stability issues and such that you may not ever have, C) you should focus on the Minipla which are way better in every way by default. Though too be honest, I don't have a single piece of Go-Busters merch, and all of my opinions are based on appearance.

Both, Zeo.
And what else am I supossed to base my opinion on? Photos, reveiws, the show itself. Buster-Oh proves every point I've ever tried to make about why not deviating from 'Voltron-Oh''s is what the next series needs to do. Or better yet. A single ship idea like Mega. Something I wish Gokai-Oh was. Instead of a Galleon, and four Random Vehicles. Because when I think Pirates, I think a Green Race Car. Last edited by Sentai; 10-05-2012 at 08:42 AM.. |

Oh. It's just that this statement in particular:
made it sound like you were defending Go-BusterOh and that threw me off.

Wait Gobusteroh is like Voltron? Huh? And you got the Stag and Beets mixed up. Stag is the jet and Beet is the crane car. I've said it before but Great Gobusteroh is a great toy. Fun to transform and combine and honestly, its proportions actually look ok to me. And I AM talking about the DX. The Minipla has better proprtions, but also much flimsier. The DX is a great stable toy.

I love ALL the individual modes for the Go-Busters mecha. RH-03's helicopter mode has a weird cockpit (or more, a huge gap at the front), but looks fine with the rabbit head placed there.
The problem of "lanky arms" on BC-04 is another thing that's clearly only an issue with the DX, because the arms on the minipla reach down to his thighs (just like they do on the show). Also the complaint of "you can forget posing him in any way" seems a bit null, because how many DX figures can you pose anyway? They're bricks, its not like any of the better DX toys out there can do much more. Essentially, the minipla outdo the DX toys in every single way when it comes to this series. The only one that's been a real dud is Go-BusterOh as far as I'm concerned. Quote:

Plus just look how badass he looks (this gave me a new appreciation for it on the show too)...

Unfortunely the arms are limited by the gaogaigar style combination of the arms, which is not repeated on the minipla. I's say once again, if you want something to fiddle with and combine/ decombine withought worry, the dx is great. The minpla is nice but is more cumbersome and lotsa xmall extra parts that kind added haphazardly (heracles' face and those shoulder bits for great gobuster.
