I'm actually really enjoying the Hikaru/Misuzu relationship and the special effects stuff is still really good. The rest of the show, though... man, this really isn't made for adults, is it?

Seems that Hikaru can't transform straight into Ginga, and I like that. I thought the Kaiju dolls were pretty much going to be ignored, but they seem to be making it a point to showcasing each new Kaiju he gets.

I was intrigued by OT's translation of the monster this time out, "Kemurian." As in a member of the Kemur race; as an alien, his name is normally parsed as "Alien Kemur" (Kemur-seijin), similar to Alien Baltan, Alien Zarab, etc. I don't dislike it, it's just odd to see it in that style.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the episode. The human stuff is silly but a good vehicle for a light, nostalgic series like this. Alien Kemur acting like a punk during the fight was funny too, and glad to see the Kaiju Dolls continue to play a role for Hikaru. The effects were good and I am still happy that Taro seems to be sticking around as a mentor. Really enjoying this show.

So does it still counts as a saber if you basically use it as a gardening tool?
I quite liked this episode. Loved the monster and lol at Taro being a perv. I like that they are going to use Jean-Nine but why the heck is he back to Jean-Killer? |

I'm still loving this show. King Pandon is a great monster suit, and once again Taro's antics are hilarious. If I need ANY spark doll, its him
Question for the Ultra experts - is there any significant reason that out of all the Ultramen, Taro seems to be the mentor?

I'm cool, too, guys! I loved the first episode, but the second episode is the weakest by far. I do like the relationship between Hikaru and Misuzu, but what in the world was up with the second episode? The third episode isn't as strong as the first, but it did cement Taro as my favorite character.
I'm going to keep up with this show, but I really hope this show won't end up with a reversal of the typical Star Trek movie opinion, in which the odd-numbered episodes are better than the even-numbered episodes. Also, the amirite within me is wondering why the Creature from the Black Lagoon will be in next week's episode. |

Ragon was the first monster from Ultra Q to show up in Ultraman. In fact, the Ultraman episode specifically references the Ultra Q episode, which is pretty neat.
I loved episode three, to the point where after watching it I immediately went and ordered the Spark Doll of King Pandon. The soulless voice of the gal who was Dark Lived into Pandon was super creepy. I do not know what the significance of it being Taro other than the servant of the Dark Master is one of Taro's enemies, and Taro himself is pretty popular, but still suitable for the sillier bits... I can't see Ultraseven doing the blushing routine from this episode, for instance. So loving this show...

Ah, I see.
I'm also tempted to buy a Taro Spark Doll. I don't even care about the fact that I lack a Ginga Spark, I really want Taro. |

Mmm not sure how to feel about this show yet, I the main two characters. Their two fiends on the other hand I can't stand. Thou the black and gold ace looking dude is pretty cool.
