The pain of 4 Imagin on Ryutarou's body is unbearable.
His connection to the past of a friend will bring him face to face with the hooded man. The man his sister once loved, in two places, from two times! Sakurai Yuuto has arrived, with a ticket of his own. A new (or is it old?) rider will be born! The past, present, and future all explosively collide this week! So Let's Watch Den-O 16-18!

Let me say this to start! Yuuto and Deneb are a great comedy duo!

But we should probably save discussion of that pairing for next week since neither of them is properly introduced at all this week.

Who wears two hats! Seriously, though, what's up with the baseball cap underneath the rain hat? Coffee-tachi 15-16 Playing a bit of catch-up with the last episode from last week. This is definitely Den-O at one of its goofiest moments. The whole hostage scenario was weird and pretty fun in how increasingly low-key it got. The payoff joke at the end was pretty fun, too, even when you know it's coming on a re-watch. At times I think it gets a little too goofy, though. Airi goes from a little spacey to full-on ditz in these episodes, the Imagin is really annoying, and I have never wanted to punch Ozaki in his stupid rubber face more. Overall a couple of good episodes, but they can drag on a little. |

And I never got the two hats, or why we never see his face, except for in the opening you can see the older Sakurai in the cafe walking.

Coffee-tachi 17-18
This is as far as I got in my aborted rewatch from 2012. Got up to episode 17 and then got distracted by something else. Everything from here on out should be a lot less recent in my memory and therefore more enjoyable and exciting (except the Ozaki and Miura bits - those were never enjoyable in any way). A lot of important stuff here, especially in episode 18. Now that the Imagin are all introduced the plot is really starting. I liked the Imagin stuff this week, too, the scene with Kintaros trying to leave, in particular. He always was my favorite of Ryotaro's Imagin. Favorite Imagin of them all, though? We'll meet him tomorrow. And, because I'm curious to see just how damn often it shows up: Stargazing flashback count: 3 (once in the previous LWW and now twice in episode 17) |
