*Blows some dust from the thread**
Wow...that was an amazing read, you actually made me change my opinion of ghost completely. By the way Fish, I'd love to hear your take on the 2 ghost movies and the v-cinema

http://www.tokunation.com/showpost.p...ostcount=14309 http://www.tokunation.com/showpost.p...7&postcount=10 I'm still upset Over-Time hasn't subbed the Specter V-Cinema, by the way. Also, I'm not sure exactly which 2 Ghost movies you mean but if you're talking about the Kamen Rider 1 movie where Ghost was the costar, I liked that one a lot. I can't find whatever post I did about it the time, but I enjoyed how much more focused it was than the SHT films that usually came out in spring, and the movie's theme being how people are connected made it feel like a story that actually needed Ghost rather than just having him there because that was the show on the air at the time.

Loved reading this and hearing your thoughts on Ghost. So I'm glad someone brought this zombie thread back from the depths.
Could have done without the Kiva bashing though. xD But really glad to read such appreciation for Ghost and all it entailed and glad to see what it contained wasn't lost to the audience. These kinds of things are great to see to make other fans that appreciate it know they aren't alone, and for them to know they are allowed to feel connected to a series and that it reached others as much it reached them. Major kudos and thanks. |

そんなのもう遠くにやったけど。。。
That's exactly why I'm so upset TV-N botched the parts they did. People who haven't picked up a working understanding of Japanese through years of watching spandex bugmen are basically s*** out of luck until someone else comes through. I like Kiva, I swear! It's just that I also like making fun of Kiva. Quote:

I haven't seen that one in a good while but I remember loving Takeru's arc in it and finding the rest mildly enjoyable. I love Drive nearly as much as I love Ghost so just having them hang out the whole movie makes it worthwhile for me, but there are some weird bits here and there (I still have no idea why Belt-san was in that bush) that keep it from being anything too special.

I wasn't really much of a fan of Ghost until I read two reviews of it. Some dude's blog, and this. And mind you, both were positive reviews.
I couldn't get past the first episode on my first try. On my second try, I didn't make it through the first few episodes. But I remembered how much these two people enjoyed it, and wanted to experience the same feeling. It was someone's (paraphrased) comment on Reddit that gave me the push I needed: "It's just like a slice-of-life series; it's not like all the other Riders". Third try, I'm basically after Grateful's debut. I stopped watching 'cause my laptop is acting funky and the episode files are on there. So I need to go get a USB to get my shows off of it before I factory reset. Luckily my friend bought me a 124GB drive (117GB available) in response to me giving him two USBs with four Kamen Rider shows in total as Christmas/Birthday presents. EDIT: Little bit of an update~ So, back to watching Ghost. Got the episodes on a USB. And, honestly, my opinion still hasn't changed. Heck, I watched Grateful's debut episode just yesterday and was reminded of why I like this show so much. Really, it's incredibly positive and has definitely been helping me through these rough patches in my life. Last edited by MangaArtist18; 08-15-2018 at 01:15 AM.. |

*revives thread from the dead*
You know what? I went past episode 35 just a few days ago and recently finished Ghost. Oddly enough, I was way past the point where the show "turns to garbage" in the latter third. Even more odd, I enjoyed Ghost all the way to the end. I was laughing during the final third! I was having fun! I can't count the number of times I "D'awwwwww"ed because of character interactions! And when it all ended.... I'd honestly put this show up there with Ex-Aid as one of the best. Like I said, I'm a sucker for emotional stories about the power of friendship. I wrote up my thoughts on the show and overall cast here. |
