Tokunation continues it's look back at the Samurai toy line with a gallery that features three times the zords! Appearing early on in the series, the Beetlezord, Swordfishzord, and Tigerzord have individual combinations with the Samurai Megazord or can unite together to form the Samurai Battlewing. Combos created with the support zords include the Beetle Blaster Megazord, Swordfish Fencer Megazord, Tiger Drill Megazord, and Battlewing Megazord. Compared to the Bandai of Japan releases, each of the American support zords are smaller in size, lack a removable spin disk, and do not have screen-accurate combinations. Each Bandai of America release does include a 3 & 1/2 inch ranger figure with limited articulation and a removable helmet.

That's interesting, I didn't realise the combinations weren't completely show accurate.

I like what BoA did with the main Zords, but these figures really lost a lot in being downsized from the Origami. Overall they just come off as cheap and the Ranger figures that come with them are a joke.
Same problem with the Octozord. It is sized down and can't do a proper transformation with the Clawzord because of it (the combo with Samurai Megazord is exact, though). I was blown away when I finally got the Ika Origami and saw how large it was. |

The inaccurate combinations were what kept me from jumping on these. If their gonna take liberties with the designs at least make it so they still look appropriate.

If you want a Samurai HaOh, I say the minipla version is the best, followed by the Gigazord, then the DX Samurai HaOh. |

I recenltly bought Beetle for a song and I am in love with him. I know BoA made him a shield instead of artillary, and that's fine with me. The helmet looks good, I like the shield mode. He's incredably good quality. The paint and even molded rubber is all excellent in color and quality. So much more fun than Shark. I love him.
