Hello all! Been a while since I posted anything in the Customs section, but I have returned with a new thing I am working on.
So I recently managed to procure a couple of DX Gashats and realized I had no means to display them. So I spent a few nights figuring out what I had on-hand and what would make for a good, secure holder to slide them into. Finding that most places that sold such items (not many at all, sadly) had them laying on their side, I was gonna give up...until I dug through my old sanding kit and found a very used up Sanding Sponge! So I took it out, cut it in half, measured the dimensions as best I could manage to make the interior fit well with the Gashat length and width, used an Exacto-Knife to cut and hallow the interior a bit, took three pieces of cardboard and put one on each tall side and one on the bottom to act as a base. After insertion and being scared half to death by having the word "FANG!!!" yelled at me, I also cut in a notch for the activation button so that would not happen again. LOL So here are some images of my prototype Gashat Holder/Holster. Will be looking to vastly improve on the overall design and maybe provide a proper tutorial later on in the year. But if in the end, even this helps inspire you all and ideas of how YOU wanna make them look should happen, AWESOME! I'd love to see them! |
