My girlfriend keeps telling me to read that, since I thought Paper Towns was a great book.

I am currently reading "We're All In This Together", which is the biography of Steve Smith, also known as Red Green from The Red Green Show.

Mobile Suit Gundam :The Origin Volume I
Can I be honest? I don't care much for first Gundam(at least the compilation trilogy). I think it gets out shined by a lot of its sequels/ sucessors. The Gundam looked super campy and I don't care for Amuro. But this Manga however, has gotten my interest a lot more. It takes the shitty original art style and remakes it for manga pages and it looks beautiful. I love the fight scenes, just so beautiful. I like the fact that there was multiple prototypes and the RX-78-01 tried to stop the Zakus. Of course, I don't like First Gundam Char so his changed scenes don't get much love from me. My only problem with the manga is that outside the color pages the Rx-78 look super bland. I know it's manga and it's supposed to be black and white, but couldn't they have some shading at the midsection to make it look interesting? Something else to note is that these releases are really nice. All of the pages are super high quality and the hard covers are very good. |

Sorry for the double post...
Gundam: The origin volume II I'm not a big fan of the Garma arc in MSG. But I do like a lot of the character nuances in the story. Like Char's hatred of the Zabi family, Sayla's distance from everyone else, especially the rise of Zeon's full power at the end of the volume. Garma's death was beautifully done with the beautiful watercolor style. Another thing I love about this manga is how it plays with shades of black. I mainly read Shonen Jump manga and usually those drawings have the black be used to define lines and features. Its great to see how you can tell its night just by the way the surroundings of the white base and the people are shaded, despite the fact most of it is in black and white. |

Up to me again?
Founding Brothers Its a book for school, so shut up. This book is about the people behind the American Revolution and the formation and solidification of the U.S. government's power and policies. I'm only part way thorugh chapter 2. And this book is ridiculously wordy too. I feeling like I'm tripping every time I read a paragraph because its not something I'm used to reading. In the first Chapter, you learn about the most famous American duel and how everyone that wasn't the participants had to look away so they couldn't give any details to a court. They even tried not to look at the damaged duelist's body. If this happened today, the politicains would bring machine guns, kill the fuck out of each other and everybody watched, observers would hide the bodies and claimed they never saw anything and would get a slap on the wrist from the government and if they were politicians get reelected 5 more times. |

I am #341 on the waiting list out of who nows how many. And that's just the OverDrive eBook. Right now, though, I'm reading The Green Lantern Chronicles, Volume III. They're good stories... but then you get to the very insensitive nickname for Thomas Kalmaku. It really doesn't help that you hear that nickname more often than "Thomas Kalmaku." The fact that it's usually bolded doesn't make things any better. |

Just finished the first volume of Gantz. Kinda disappointed that it didn't give an overall good summary to the reader of what the plot is and while the small little explanation is nice, it isn't full easy to get the full idea of what the series is. Other then that I thought it wasn't all that bad. The characters acted as they probably would in the same situation and came off as real people, the artwork was very nice, and it's got a good sci-fi/gore/echi theme which is pretty cool (not gonna lie, ultraviolence and nudity is kinda cool to see in comics every so often).
It's a series I've been meaning to read and have known about for years and it's nice that I'm finally getting around to it. I'll definitely read the second volume to see how things progress and from there I'll probably end up keep reading.
