Rewatch two movies this month.
Night is Short, Walk on Girl (2017) - Still easily one of my favorite movie of this decade. I have seen it three times already and I love it more with each viewing. This movie has a strange and creative way of telling a simple love story. It's funny, abstract, and charming all at the same time. The movie has a lot of depth going on in the story with the great use of symbolism. This movie is a must see for sure. Robot Carnival (1987) - I haven't seen this movie since I was a little kid on TV back in the 90s and it still holds up. The movie is the anime equivalent of Fantasia with each movie having its own segments of stories. This movie has beautiful animation and has a unique way of telling a story with symbolism and language. Most of this movie is silent with no dialogue which makes this movie very cool and original for its time. My only issue with the movie is some segments could have been better like Presence and Cloud. Presence goes on for way too long and Cloud feels kinda pointless. I still highly recommended this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

I have seen the first two episodes of One Punch Man season 2 and it's not that bad. The animation is a bit iffy at times, but I still think the show is still good. People are too nit picky on the animation and forgetting what made One Punch Man good in the first place. I like One Punch Man for the humor, characters and the satire (Not to mention, the series started off as a web comic with bad art in the first place).

Rewatching the original Fruits Basket (New version can suck it until it gets to new material) and enjoying Kimetsu No Yaiba. Kimetsu No Yaiba is legit the best show airing right now. GO WATCH IT! ALL OF YOU!!

I watch A Silent Voice on Netflix on Thursday and I really enjoy it. I never read the manga that it was based on, so I will be judging the movie as its own thing. This movie made me feel sadness, anger, happiness and laughs because I really like the main cast of characters. The movie did a great job on able to sympathize and relate to Shōko (I'm not deaf, but I know what it is like to be bullied). It did take me a while to like Shoya, but they did a great job on developing him over time. The biggest flaw for the movie for me is that they could have handed the side characters better and I'm not super crazy about the art style.
The animation is very pretty look at and the voice acting is top notch as well. Overall, this was a fantastic movie and it is worth checking out even if you are not a fan of anime. I highly recommended this movie. Rating: 8.5/10

One Punch Man Season 2
It started off boring as Hell, but now things are finally getting interesting- but the reason I personally found the beginning boring is: 1) You barely get to see Saitama at all. 2) When you do see Saitama, he's not fighting- he's just goofing around or talking to other heroes. People watch One Punch Man to see Saitama kick ass- that's the point of the show- so when the season first began and nothing was happening, I was like: WTF is this? It took a little while, but Season 2 has built up some momentum, there have been some interesting fights, and it's definitely building up to a wonderful action-packed finale- but there's still some time before it reaches that point. One character that certainly stands out is Garou AKA the Super Hero Hunter. He's been on a killing streak and hunting all the Class S heroes throughout the season. He's extremely skilled, has an interesting personality, an interesting personal history, and even though he's a bad guy: I love him. I love him, I respect him, and watching him in action is extremely entertaining. Things are certainly heating up and gaining speed for One Punch Man Season 2- and I don't think it'll be long until Saitama decides to steal the spotlight and show us all some new tricks he's developed. ^_^ You should definitely check it out. ^_^ |

Sword Art Online: Alicization.
A bit late to the series, but I finally got time to watch it. The writing's improved a bit, but it's still the usual SAO affair, with the sexual assault and overpowered protagonist and stuff. Nice to see there's a chemistry between Kirito and Eugeo though. And none of that whole "pain absorber" thing. |
