People are definitely excited for this movie, but after the prequels, I think there's much more caution being expressed. |

I think people tend to be more cynical these days, so they won't fall so easily.
This movie is the most hyped I've been since ... perhaps the last Star Wars movie, or Avengers, but there is a marked difference. Last time I scoured the web finding every detail I could on Revenge of the Sith, until I practically knew the whole story inside out before the movie was even released. But now, I try to avoid spoilers where I can (not always successful, my fault) so I think it'll be a pleasant experience.

I really am excited for this film, I love Star Wars so of course I will see this movie probably a couple of times. Although I also said that about the Lego movie and I never saw that once in theaters.

I think they are both equally hype up at the moment in my opinion. The year 1999 is much different then it is now. 1999 didn't have the same Internet we have now. The Internet was very limited during the 90's since social media websites like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr didn't exist and the Internet didn't become popular to people's houses until the early-mid 2000's. Since Youtube didn't exist back then, people went to see Wing Commander just for the trailer and left after it was over. Even people back then knew the movie was going to be shit .

In case no one's seen it yet we had two huge bombshells dropped today on which actors are playing which characters in The Force Awakens. As revealed by Vanity Fair:
Kylo Ren - Our new Sith Lord is played by Adam Driver. I for one am quite disappointed with this little bit of news. Never found him to be a particularly good actor in anything but oh well. And it's not just that he's the guy under the mask either, there are physical shots from the film of him without the mask implying he may have a significant amount of screen time without it on. Captain Phasma ("Chrometrooper") - Played by Gwendoline Christie!! Incredibly excited for this piece of news. Racist nerds poured out of the wood work complaining when they found out Stormtroopers could be black, imagine the kind of man child rage you'll see now that they know they can be women too! Loved her on on Game of Thrones and knowing she'll be a total badass in this movie as well makes me even more excited than I was before. So what does everyone think?

I read somewhere earlier today, and I will be darned if I can remember where, that the VF pics were pretty specifically staged and may not be entirely representative of scenes in the film. It's a small hope to cling to (re: Driver), but it's something.
I love love love the Captain Phasma pic, though, and I was pretty wary of the whole "Chrometrooper" concept. Visually, I mean. Abrams' comments on Jar Jar Binks' skeleton were pretty amusing, too. |

Many of those shots actually were staged. But based on some excerpts I've seen from the actual article it's been confirmed that he will be out of mask in the film as well.
I didn't actually see that particular JJ comment though. Please link me

Ah, that's unfortunate. About the mask, I mean.
As for Jar Jar, the quotes about that are near the bottom of the article. Last edited by Thessair; 05-04-2015 at 03:42 PM.. |

Did anyone hear about the tumored Boba Fett movie plot awhile back where it was about the original Clone in the armor getting killed by some random dude and his armor got stolen?
