Nope. While I'm somewhat reserved about it, if people catch me watching it or notice my computer background with all the Heisei Riders, I proudly explain what it is to them if they ask. My group of friends at first found it odd of me to be watching it, and they still do sometimes poke fun at me for it, but after seeing some clips (thankfully they caught me during watching Gaim), they found some moments to raise an eyebrow at, and have shown respect for it.
Besides, why should I be ashamed of having good tastes in a Series of shows that have good morals, complex storylines & actually make me THINK? Instead of stupid braindead drama shows & reality star stupidity?

There's akibaranger geek stereotype and tbbt. Also, marvel become so cool that even People thar ridicules superheroes want to get the paid from it. I mean 3 Spider-Man in 10 years is really cash grabbing, but he's the best selling toy figure.

I do like how Japan is not scared to tell more darker and serious themes to their kids shows compare to America. Batman: TAS, Steven Universe and a couple other shows are the only American cartoons that reach the same level of storytelling and content as Japanese kids stuff for the most part.

agreed Batman the Animated Series was really good. I watched it in high school and really enjoyed it.
I think that's where Harley Quinn came from, too. |

What I feel like what makes something like Kamen Rider stand out from most kids stuff is the aesthetics of rubber suits and the fight cinematography. Seeing rubber suits and miniatures really make these shows feel authentic in my opinion. Not to mention, Kamen Rider always deals with some type of losing your humanity and evil vs. evil.

Back in the day, you had shows and manga aim for kids in Japan that would never work in America for kids like Fist of the North, Devilman, Area 88, Barefoot Gen, and even Toku like the Metal Heroes and Kamen Rider Black. Japan's standers have changed over the years and American cartoons have gotten better with content (That's not saying a whole lot compared to most Western kids shows). So current anime and Toku shows aim for kids don't feel a whole lot different than most American cartoons now except for a few in my opinion.

Kind of? I like what I like, but I get weird reactions sometimes and I'm like "I promise you I'm normal lol." Usually once I explain why I like it, people are like "oh, I can see that then" and move on.
