It's very obvious the angle for Kiramager is to be fun first.
We're in the late 30s and just recently saw the main antagonist for the first time in the series. Normally something like that would annoy me since they'd only scarcely mention his existence here and there until a few episodes prior to this, but Kiramager's strength comes from its cast, acting and writing. Like yes, the monsters are very easily-designed, some of the simplest monster designs in a Sentai by far, but you remember what they do and how the rangers react to it. You have one-off episodes that use Sentai tropes or parody films, but are so well-done and hilarious that you can't help but love them. (Mabushiina's Hangover is probably one of the best Sentai episodes in recent years period.) And this team is probably one of the best in terms of interaction and feeling like they're close. Stuff like them having nicknames for one another after a while or getting excited or concerned for each other as their time together continues on adds so much to an ensemble cast and it makes Kiramager one of the best to date as a result. It's one of those series that you'll either love or not. I've been watching it with a group and we've been loving it, but I know some who find it boring since it is a very by-the-week scenario story. Depends on if you go in looking for heavy story and development or for fun and light-heartedness.
