I'm not sure I would agree that Gaim is the single best Figuarts I've ever owned, but it certainly is close to the top of that list.
It's definitely one of those Figuarts that everyone should buy, simply to experience an amazing toy, whether or not you're a fan of the show (I STILL haven't watched past ep 3, so I don't consider myself a fan of it). |

I certainly agree he's near perfect, and by saying I favor others I don't want to diminish just how fantastic Gaim is, but others are too, and happen to be from shows I've seen, or are designs I like more so they get an edge on him.
It's not like there's anything really wrong with Blade or Alternative Zero (the two newest bodies that come to mind), but something about Gaim does feel a little more special than those, but I wonder a little bit if it's just the newness factor. Let's see, there's the good old standbys of Ryuki/Knight/Odin, and to a slightly lesser degree Zolda (because no Contract Monster). Glow Stage Faiz/Kaixa are also pretty excellent, and while I didn't get the 2 pack version, I bet Faiz/AutoVaijin would give Gaim. Abyss, Blade and Shining Agito are also among my favorites, but if I had to choose just one, I still think I would go Ryuki. The only thing that's ever been a problem on that one is the forearm ports not wanting to stay on, and I think the Ryuga repaint doesn't have that problem at all. |
